Stayed here for 2 nights. Room not ready on arrival late in the day despite resort only having 3 rooms booked for the night, complimentary drink as an apology for the delay. Room very clean except for the drinking glasses which both still bore the lipstick of the last guest.
Staff very friendly. Food at restaurant fabulous but limited menu choice.
The other thing of note is that the foot traffic on the board walk outside of all the accomodation has the potential to be REALLY noisy if the resort was full, our room was located at the corner where every guest and staff member had to walk past to access rooms and restaurant so if you are a light sleeper this may be a problem. Lucky for us there were minmal guests during our stay.
Area very beautiful & isolated but ideal to explore 90 mile beach and Cape Reinga and of course if you play golf. Lovely pool for those that don't play golf.
The only thing that would meet the qualmark 4 1/2 stars standard is the price in my opinion.

We spent two days here at the resort and the location as well as the facility are outstanding. The golf course, grounds, rooms and nearby beach are all five star. However, the restaurant has a very limited menu (four main items for dinner), and as such, this is not a place to stay for very long as the next closest place for dining is a 40 minute drive away.

The walk along the beach as well as the views of their hillside winery were amazing. It was sunny and worth the visit. The pizza at the winery was excellent as well. Overall, a nice place, but just for a short stay. The service staff are junior, but his could be indicative of the remoteness of the place.

my husband and I stayed for 7 days over christmas period, we had the best room which had fantastic views over the golf course and to the ocean and was a 1 minute boardwalk to the restaurant. The staff were all very helpful and the rooms spotlessly clean. Overall all due to the remoteness of the hotel and as non golfers we wish we had only booked in for 3 nights as that would have been sufficient due to the lack of things to do. Also you are about a 30-40 minute drive from other restaurants which we needed as the restaurant menu didnt inspire us enough for 7 nights. Also take plenty of insect repellent as we were eatten alive by the little blighters

Room Tip: the corner room 6 was large airy and had the best views

Stayed in a Self contained 3brm Villa overlooking the Golf Course for 1 night. Curious setup with the Hotel facilities a small distance away requiring a short car ride to access. Old fashioned TV and no TV at all in the main bedroom. Otherwise all good but probably a bit expensive. The staff try hard, but because of the location, it must be hard to attract experienced people.

My wife and I stayed at the resort for three nights; it was a nice setting with fantastic views. The staff was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely but the menu was limited. If you are a business man and need to keep in touch with the world the internet service was poor. That said it was great experience and would recommend as quality place to stay to explore the northern region.
