Wailea Ekolu Village Resort
Certificate of Excellence

I agree with the other reviewer. We were promised 'panoramic ocean views'. In fact, we had a view of the parking lot and if I stood on the chair, I might have been able to see the ocean. The condo, itself, was clean if not rather outdated. The pool is tiny and unremarkable. The beach is a drive, as is the front desk. Be prepared to drive circles to await a parking place in the beach parking lots. The front desk is not helpful and seems more interested in selling you trips. Overall, I'd prefer pretty much any other condo location in wailea than Ekolu.

Wailea Ekolu is a good bargain if you wish to stay in Wailea (highly recommended). However, in the summer, be sure to rent a condo with air conditioning. Do not believe anyone who tells you that ocean breezes plus ceiling fans will keep you comfortable: it will not! Ekolu is quite a way up the hill from the beach, and Wailea isn't particulaly breezy (unlike Kapalua). These units are hot. Also, Ekolu is not a family friendly place. If you are playing with your children in one of the swimming pools in the evening, you can count on being hassled by the security guards to be silent! Some of their full time residents must be in bed by 7pm (like Del Boca Vista), and they complain to security if they can hear you at the pool at that hour.Furthermore, do not rent a unit on the north side of the property. These are next to the main road in and out of this part of Wailea, and with all the trucks servicing the busy cono/home constuction going on, you will be shocked at the noise. For slightly more money next time, we will stay at Wailea Ekahi, which has an oceanside pool which is a fun, laid back spot. Believe it or not, we loved Wailea, we just spent as little time as possible at our condo.
