I go down to Baja Sur 7-10 times a year. Santa Rosalia is an awesome place to stop as heading north is 300 miles of nothing beyond it. This hotel is spacious, clean and a great view of the sea of cortez. There are two pemex fuel stations in town. DO NOT go to the one in the middle of town. The plain clothed night attendant (very shady) uses a "gringo pump". A "gringo pump" is when then drill holes in the fuel impeller so that it says it pumped more fuel than it did (about 1/3 more)...and he uses a credit/debit card skimming machine. Two times, I have went there and two times, my debit card info was taken and attempted and two times, he charged me for 39 gallons when my truck holds 22 total. And if you question him, he will try to fight you. There is another pemex on the north side of town. Use that, stay at Las Casitas and hit the local bars if youre there on a weekend night, they are a blast.

The views are spectacular! The rooms are huge, beautifully decorated and the private PATIOS on the cliff overlooking the ocean...just wow! We had very little expectations on our drive to San Ignacio lagoon and this place truly was a little unexpected gem! It's part of the reason we want to come back to Baja to spend more time at the hotel. We stayed 2 separate nights, so tried different rooms...one of the rooms even had Jack&Jill's bathroom! We loved it so much, that we are coming back next year with a bigger group! Take an ocean front room and you will not regret it! Can't wait to go back

Room Tip: best views, ocean view, private patios, huge rooms, sunsets, romantic

Clean, beautiful view of the Gulf from our room. Nice facility. We enjoyed the stay. It's at the southern end of town. We went into the old town (not the coast - go inland) and explored a little. A rundown town - but interesting French mining history and the architecture is interested.

Room Tip: We had a room with a balcony overlooking the Gulf. Ask for it.

4 guys riding motorcycles to cabo. We just happened upon this place. Amazing views. Clean, spacious rooms. A/C. WiFi. (Worked great for me). The owner was a real pleasure to work with. Friendly, english speaking. The parking is about as secure as it gets in baja.

A very large room in what is really your own little bungalow. You also have your own seating area which has panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez. I even saw two whales swimming along the coast early one morning. A little bit out of town but driving and parking in the old centre is easy.
