Excellent family day out, we really enjoyed walking around the valley with our two dogs on a sunday afternoon its about 70 acres in total and lots of different tracks, with lake's where people are fishing and the ruins of an old abbey with lots of history behind it. A small, free car park is at the bottom of the valley and we passed a huge childrens playground too - but i think you have to pay to access it through the farm. There is a farm and museum which you have to pay to enter, but wasnt open when we visited unfortunatly... Would defintley go again!

Dear Sunshine8,
Thankyou very much for posting such a warm and positive review. I am pleased that you found the Valley such a pleasant Park to enjoy. The coulours of the leaves have been particularly spectacular this Autumn. I am sorry that you found the Museum closed. It is open from 10 - 4.30 every day from April to the end of October. If you are in the area next spring we would be delighted to see you in the Museum.
Thank you again for your kind words

Regards

Chris Wright

Dear Vpercy,
It was very kind of you to present us in such a glowing light. In particular your praise for the staff is much appreciated. They all work extremely hard to make a visit to our Museum a delight and praise such as yours makes all the all the difference. We are already planning new attractions for next year when we hope to welcome you and your family back ; if not sooner.

Thank you.
Kind Regards

Went with my 7 and 9 yr old children on a bright but damp day. They loved it - can wander safely around a range of buildings (farming, industrial, home, ruined abbey etc), with displays, animals, activities (we met the blacksmith and learned how to look after the farm animals), woodland trail, a play area with tree house, climbing wall etc. Good cakes in the cafe. Ideal for families with primary age, or a little older, children - safe for them to roam. Plenty of interest for adults too. Mostly on the level so I assume access ok for buggies/wheelchairs.

This is a great day out for those with children or those interested in days gone by. Enjoy nature with hens, ducks, pigs, goats, cows & sheep and the woodland trails for enjoyable walks. Fantastic facilties for children - a big wooden maze, an undercover sandpit and childrens bikes and tractor toys to ride on. There ia a fantastic playground with swings, rides and slides for small children. For older children there is a large wooden play area and new to 2011 a large new treehouse. Numerous activites are provided during weekends and through all school and bank holidays. For a taste of days gone by visit the victorian school, the rebuild farm houses and agricultural machinery. There is a reasonably priced cafe just outside the hertitage centre and an enjoyable walk through the valley to visit the ruins of industries from days gone by. Reasonably priced (especially if you buy a £12.60 season ticket) and very friendly and helpful staff. Definately worth a visit!!!

Many thanks for your detailed words of praise. The Trustees and Staff pride themselves on offering excellent value for both the local community and visitors from farther afield. We also aim to be the friendliest place to visit. It is most gratifying that you singled out these two particular aspects of our Attraction for praise. Thank you again for your support. I hope you enjoy a good summer with us.
