The cafeteria area at Mount Rushmore is quite spacious with plenty of options for the entire family. I had a buffalo burger and fries, which tasted good. The buffalo stew was enjoyed by other members of our party - it looked and tasted delicious. I also highly recommend the ice cream - soft serve and scooped ice cream are available. You can even get vanilla ice cream made with Thomas Jefferson's recipe.

While you're eating be sure to look up at the ceiling lights (see picture) that pay homage to the carvers of the mountain - nice touch!

The food is a bit expensive but that is expected at a place like this. It is convenient though, and if you sit by the large windows you can enjoy the view. Chipmunks running around outside are fun to watch as well.

This place is like a food court in a mall or airport. Kids had pizza and it was fairly good. I am gluten-free and they were able to get a gluten-free bun for my veggie burger. Our expectations weren’t high so we weren’t too disappointed. The ice cream was a hit and the TJ vanilla is definitely worth a try!

Had lunch here. Ordered hotdogs and sodas and ice cream. Good food, good service. Had outside seating which we took advantage of but they also had inside seating for the warmer or colder days.

This café is convenient because it is located inside the park so you don’t have to leave if you want to get something to eat. There is a good variety of food and there are three food stations depending on what you want. A chili buffalo dog was $8.25 but it did come with fries. It is crowded, however, and because of this and the open space it is somewhat noisy. There is also outdoor seating. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Had a bite to eat at lunch time whilst still admiring this exceptional monument. Pretty good food and not as expensive as one might imagine considering its location and captive audience.
