What a little hidden gem of a place smack bang in the mendip hills. Came here for a quiet break away and it was perfect. Booked a double and got a family room with breakfast. clean comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was awesome with plenty of cereal, fruit, continental style or a full English.
The evening meals in the restaurant aren't included, but they are worth every penny, a la carte but perfectly presented. The photo is of the assorted ice cream again very well presented. Well stocked bar.
Staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful.
If your looking for places to visit, cheddar gorge 20 mins away by car for a day out or 25-30mins from Weston super mare where you can park on the beech and walk along to the town.
All in all I totally recommend a stay at this hotel and would definitely stay here again!!

Me and the wife were going to local charity ball and i left booking the hotel a bit late. This place looked hood and was competitively priced compared to Premier Inn and Holiday Inn.

In general the Hotel was really nice, the interior needs updating in the room and around the Hotel.

Staff were friendly and the Hotel is well organised. Breakfast was really nice, i get the impression the food here is good.

It is very comparable to Holiday Inn with slightly smaller rooms, very clean and tidy, Wife thought the bed was a bit hard but i slept on it fine.

I would recommend staying here.

Spent two nights here for a short break and after cancelling a Travelodge close by. Small and really enjoyable stay, great views and very quiet. The room was clean and comfortable. Had two breakfasts which were perfect, not massive amounts of food but enough and locally sourced. Had one evening email which was delicious, again not huge portions but beautiful food well cooked and presented. If you are after chain hotel facilities with huge choice then you will be disappointed, however, as a peaceful short break in stunning surroundings, it is perfect

Room Tip: Ask for one at the front, ours was over the kitchens and the fan ran till quite late.

Went to Lyncombe Lodge for the other half's birthday meal. Hadn't been before so didn't know what to expect. Yes it is a bit odd driving up past the ski slope and up the steep drive but it is well worth it. We were greeted by a lovely gentleman who showed us in to the lounge area where we sat and had a drink whilst choosing from the menu. We had a grazing dish of bread and pesto/garlic mayo/ oil balsamic dips whilst we chose. Very tasty. The menu is small but I would've tried it all. I had goats cheese and beetroot salad to start followed by baked cod. Other half had ham hock terrine and belly pork with black pudding mash. Admittedly the mash looked a strange colour but everything was really tasty and really well presented. The gentleman who served us was really friendly. The view from the restaurant was lovely. I would recommend it to anyone and we will definitely be coming back.

There are some good points about the Lyncombe lodge which are the food and the staff. We were in the chalets, not the main building and they are a little tired but comfortable enough. First day the shower tripped out, headboard was rather loose and needed a cushion put behind it to stop it banging on the wall when you moved. The internet was acceptable and free. The worst bit was the road to the Hotel, it was up a very steep hill with a hairpin bend and only room for one car. We hoped and prayed that a car wasn't coming the other way when driving up, it was that steep.
