“A Great Place to Visit”
Reviewed 7 October 2010

Went to Marmaris last year and found it too noisy and busy. After spending a day in Icmeler, we decided to give it a try this year and we had a fantastic holiday.
There are so many restaurants/bars to choose from, each one serving delicious meals.
Can't wait to go back again next year. The scenery was breathtaking and the people so friendly.

“Icmeler. A great place to holiday”
Reviewed 25 September 2010

We spent two weeks in Icmeler from 3rd to 17th Sept 2010. It is an excellent holiday town with lots to do and see. Lots of shops, restaurants and a permanent market by the canal also local market every Wed which is a must. An experience and a half but leave a couple of hours to walk around. Restaurants range from basic burger and chips to proper Turkish. We would recommend the Lal, Hanedan's and the Love boat. The beach is soft sand and the water blue. There are roped together buoys about 30 meters off shore to keep people and boats apart so the beach has a safe enclosed swimming area. Superb for kids or if you like laying on an inflatable on the sea because you can’t drift too far. You have to pay for sun beds but there are lots of deals. You get the usual hastle from restaurant staff asking you to come in to their places but just be firm and polite and they will reciprocate. You can even have a laugh with them. We will defiantly be going back. 10/10.
ONE WORD OF WARNING. If you use the change shops (money exchange) be careful. Our friends watched their money being counted out in front of them and swore it was right. On returning to their hotel found they were 100 lira short. The second time they both watched him count it and both swore it was right but counted it before leaving the shop and it was 20 lira short. They watched another couple go in to the exchange. They came out counted their money on the step then turned round and went back in! We believe it is done by sleight of hand. This exchange they used is the one in the square opposite the taxi rank and HSBC ATM machine. Talking to other holiday makers it seemed to be a common problem But don’t let this put you off. We took enough cash for the first week then used the ATMs with no problems. We used HSBC, Capital one and NatWest cards.
Have a good holiday.
Paul & Zoe.

The Dolmus from Icmeler to Terunc is incredible....spectacular views and lots of photo opps. Terunc itself was laid back and very pretty. A very good day out for 5 lira, one way, you just have to have a good head for heights and ignore the driver of the dolmus when he is on his mobile negotiating a hairpin bend!

Lazy day boat trip was fantastic. Booked through Jim from London, who seemed a lovely guy and organised it all with precision.Picked up from hotel, great day out!

I loved Turtle beach!!! Highlight of my trip, really enjoyed the boat trip up the river, found the tombs on the mountainside fascinating.
Loved the mudbath though i don't think i look ten years younger!

Fishing.. Sorry, don't bother with this (I caught nothing and am experienced angler)

Take some sting relief cream as nearly everyone i met (me included) had got stung by a flipping bee!

Once again having just returned from Icmeler, i am in the process of booking again for next year.
The resort is excellent for couples, singles, families etc!
It is a very scenic village with a mountain background. The beach is extensive, clean and safe.
The choice of restaurants is extensive, the food delicious.
I can thoroughly endorse, Icmeler.

“beware of boat trips”
Reviewed 1 September 2010

i go to icmeler regularly and love it, but beware of the lazy day cruise.as the last 2 occasions i have been on these they are very over crowded,,the sellers of these trips tell you ,sunbed for everyone, yet they are licensed to carry 120 people and on the last 2 trips there have been over 200 people on board. some people dont even get a seat. i fear one day there will be a serious accident.i noticed this year that all the sellers want is our money and dont care for safety. even on the beach they offer "free sun beds"yet as my daughter and myself only bought 1 drink, they wanted 10 lire off us for sun beds.as i said i love icmeler but feel the locals dont care as long as they get our money.
