We are a family of five, with three boys aged 10, 8 and 7. We booked this hotel (all-inclusive) with another family as somewhere inexpensive for a week long Easter break. We were not expecting anything fantastic as it was very competitively priced.

In the end, we were all amazed by how much we loved this holiday - the facilities/activities, the food, the rooms and the staff were all superb when compared to similar holidays we have had in the EU.

Location:

This is on the outskirts of downtown Marmaris, which might seem like a negative but for us it certainly wasn't. If I lived in Marmaris, this is where I would have picked for a holiday. Downtown is like your average built up tourist area. This is located at the start of the green belt, and its lovely. The whole resort feels like its in a forest, built amongst large pine-trees. Its a very green and well kept resort and we all loved this aspect as it makes it different from most offerings where its all tiles and concrete.

Its also got its own section of beach, with plenty of loungers and straw parasols. There is also a beach bar which a wooden-decked lounger area if you prefer not be on sand, but near the sea.

Two private piers are also available, again with loads of loungers. Our boys loved jumping off the pier and generally mucking about at the beach as an alternative to the pool. As adults, we ended up preferring the beach to the pool as its so lovely and relaxing with stunning views of the islands in the distance.

If you hire bikes through the hotel, you have a few miles of tree lined promenade which you can take all the way to the Harbour (away from downtown). There are beautiful views across to the islands all the way. We did this twice as it was so pleasant.

Overall, Id give it 5 stars for location - if you want to go downtown you can. We did it twice but were really glad to get back to where the hotel is to be honest.

Rooms:

We had a two bedroom bungalow. Rooms are a good size, but a little tired (though no more so than most places we go). We found the beds really comfy and slept well.
Serviced each day with fresh towels etc. A slight walk up the hill to ours, so if you have any medical conditions you might want to make sure you are located near the bottom (or in the main hotel). As we are all sprightly things it was no bother for us.

Pool:

Numerous pools - we stuck with the main one near to the beach the bar/food and the football pitch. Absolutely loads of loungers, loads of parasols, and no stress in the morning rushing to get them for our family. Pools are a bit chilly, but this is partly because we were pre-season and it was generally about 25 degrees - if you are here when its in the 30's then they would be perfect. If you are coming early season, a thin neoprene vest might be a good idea so that the kids can spend longer in the pool.

Also, the only real complain is that the tiles are slippy. To be fair the staff try to dry it through the day, but I think this is one area which could be improved.

Activities

Our boys loved this place. There is a superb 5 a side pitch with new, good quality astro-turf, and its open early until late. On most days we relaxed by the pool while the children spent 2+ hours playing football close by.

There are also two very good water-slides which are large and fast enough and enough to warrant 30 mins play each day even for older boys.

There is also a good play-park, and plenty of activities such as parasailing, scuba, wakeboarding, horse riding etc down at the beach or through the hotel.

Our boys had their first Scuba diving experience with Paradise Diving and they loved it - very good Padi qualified dive team, and great value compared to Europe (see Chad at the main pool).

Food:

Lovely coffee-shop next to main pool, open late. Main dining room large, with a very good selection of food. We have relatively high (though not michelin-high) standards, and were very happy with meals each night - buffet style, good quality meat, and varied enough to keep you happy. If you are wine connoisseur you will be disappointed, but for us the red-glug was more than passable for the week. The food was certainly WAY better than anything we have had through all-inclusive deals through the big tour operators in Majorca etc. At no point did we feel the urge to go into town for a "proper" meal, unlike on all the other all-inclusives we have been on. Breakfast was also excellent, with freshly cooked omelettes available, along with loads of other stuff. Lemon Cafe is nice during the day for pastries, coffee and ice-cream/lollies. Kids can help themselves.

There are also a few a-la carte options you can book. We did the chinese restaurant one night, which was as a nice as a decent chinese restaurant at home.

They baked a large birthday cake and bought it out with a song for one of our party, which was lovely.

I'd give it five stars for food, relative to other all-inclusive resorts we have been to.

Staff:

All very friendly and hard working. No complaints. You get to know them by name and they always have a smile. A few comments about "surly" staff but never a problem for any of us - good service and lots of smiles.

Overall:

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel. If it was two or three times the price, at that point there might be plenty of alternatives. However, as it is we are all planning to return next year for another early Easter break.

An honest review of this hotel. Firstly is definitely not in Icemeler, it's actually on the outskirts of Marmaris. The hotel itself is very clean but a little bit dated. There are a good few pills and lots of sun loungers including at the beach and the hotels private pier. Due to the time of year we travelled the hotel was woefully understaffed meaning that if you went to the main restaurant at opening time or just after you were unlikely to get a table and if you did you'd probably have to clear it yourself first. I always find that although you're in an all inclusive resort is best to tip the waiters as you'll get much better service. Bayram in the main restaurant was always happy unlike most of his colleagues. But you have to bear in mind the staff are working 14 to 15hrs a day 6 days a week for little money. The guys at the spa were great not pushy at all. Wwe had 2 turkish baths during our stay. Ridvan was around the pool most days and always willing to help and a cheeky taster massage by the pool was nice. The reception staff were very helpful to. Assisting with a pharmacy after Thomas Cook lost one of our suitcases, in particular Gokhan and Aslihan. The bar staff were a bit grumpy, but to be honest a lot of the guests seemed to have forgotten their manners, and a little effort with a please and thank you in Turkish went a lond easy. All in all a nice holiday not the best hotel I've visited in Turkey but not the worst. I would stay here again but would consider the king suite or marine rooms.

What a brilliant family holiday we had
My daughter was 13 whilst we was there and the hotel made her a cake and booked us into the Turkish a la carte.perfect thank you so much it was the best kebab I’ve ever eaten
Was a lovely gesture by the hotel
I’ve read that staff don’t speak English very well, this is 100% false there English was brilliant and everyone was all so helpful

The room was absolutely lovely perfectly laid out with mini fridge and the biggest walk in shower I’ve ever seen

Drinks were all brilliant, beach bar was lovely, the pool bar was great and loved the music there at nights!
Timeless bar 24 hours was fantastic much more relaxed and great for when your near the top pool
Coffee shop was the best coffees I’ve ever tasted
Lemon cafe was great with some lovely cakes and ice cream

Food

The food court was good for a quick snack, unfortunately food was cold at times

Self service restaurant was full of ignorant guests that thought they were too important to queue up however nobody pushes in front of me!
Food was ok but again cold mainly due to people leaving the lids up,also struggled to get seats at times but the staff worked so hard
Had some good food in there and always managed to find something

We did eat out 3 nights on the trot as we was getting fed up with the ignorant guests which were mainly English people
The food was lovely in the surrounding areas and very cheap,we always go all inclusive and always eat out a few nights
Unfortunately there wasn’t many a la carte restaurants at the hotel so was booked up apart from the great night we had at the Turkish a la carte where the food was amazing

The rooms were always very clean, the pools were lovely, the beach area was lovely and the beach bar area

Would we go again???
100% we would,we are hoping to come back in August

Brilliant hotel,should be 5 star
Great staff and great facilities
