I stayed at the Celay Hotel last year and came away from there wanting to go straight back. I loved the hotel when I first visited in 2004 and did not think they could make it any better but they did just that. The hotel is clean and tidy and the grounds are beautiful, as well as are the views. The staff are attentive to everybody’s needs and are all lovely helpful people. I am a fussy eater but the menus catered for everybody’s needs and I cannot fault the food. The hotel is in a quiet spot but so easy to get into town or down to beaches.
Highly recommended and looking forward to going back soon.

I stayed for 10 days half board in mid-September 2017. Hotel was quite busy with clientele being almost exclusively middle-aged and older British guests, more often than than not couples, which made the hotel feel a little too much like 'back home' in some respects. Breakfast was very good, and the chef will make special orders like omelettes, beans on toast, etc. You can also have traditional Turkish breakfast. Evening meals were of very good quality and good value. Hotel is set in a very beautiful part of Ovacik with splendid scenery, and the area nearby is very peaceful. Hisaronu and the big night life is about 20-25 minutes walk away, but there are plenty of taxis. Rooms are fairly basic but spacious and clean with balconies - but no fridge, which was a pity, as small fridges are quite often found in similar hotels in this part of Turkey. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially young Ahmet. Centre of Ovacik with cafes and restaurants is only 5-10 minutes walk away down hill, but a fairly good climb back up to the hotel, which was fine for me (I'm average fitness, aged 57) but it might be a problem for those with limited mobility. The dolmus bus into Fethiye and going the other way into Olu Deniz can be caught at the main road where the cafes and restaurants are and is very cheap (roughly £1 each way, takes about 15 -20 minutes to get there).

Room Tip: There is a newly-built block at the hotel and you can pay a supplement for these 'de-luxe' rooms.

We stayed at the Celay Hotel
This Hotel is quite away from the main hub of things .
Pool area very good
We found it a very basic hotel
Food and staff were average
Our biggest complaint was the lack of sleep due to from the dog next door that constantly barked all night

CELAYHOTEL, Manager at Celay Hotel, responded to this reviewResponded 9 December 2017

Thank you for your review. We take all of our reviews very seriously in a hope to improve our customer satisfaction. Ovacik has always been a sprawling area which has experienced large growth over the last decade. We have clearly stated in our hotel description that we are situated in a mountainous area with fantastic views. We have never claimed to be city central and take pride in the fact that we are not next to the loud bars and clubs located in Hisarönü city center.
Regarding the local wildlife including the dogs from nearby villas. I am afraid we have no control over their behaviour and the noise that they create. We are very sorry if this spoilt your stay with us.

We arrived at approx 4am and were immediately greeted and shown to our room by an extremely polite young man.
We had already booked a deluxe room and were not disappointed. The room was spacious and clean, with a lovely balcony overlooking the pool.
Due to arriving late we overslept and got down to breakfast too late. The management and staff went out of their way to provide breakfast which was more than we expected.
We managed to get up in time for breakfast for the rest of our stay, it was typical Turkish breakfast but a full English is available for a small cost if requested.
We ate at the hotel a few times during our stay and the food was of excellent quality, well presented and very good value for money.
The hotel, pool and gardens were immaculate, our room was cleaned daily by the maid service.
The owners, manager and staff are a fantastic bunch and very approachable ( even re-engineering a Bluetooth speaker for us when it stopped working ).
The hotel is a short walk downhill to the main road where the buses run regularly.
We would recommend staying at the Celay to experience the place for yourself as we cannot praise it enough. We will definitely be returning.
Thank you.
