Wonderfully rebuilt abbey into a modern retro style hotel. No one would expect such a quality hotel in such a small village. Excellent service, good cuisine, parking, pool etc. Very worthwhile to stop-over.

We arrived after a challenging drive up narrow streets to the place. It is not well sign posted so arrive in daylight.
The rooms are clean but small, no air-condition so summer heat (40+°C) can be challenging. The pool is small so best when the guests are few. It's a small short length pool more for dipping and cooling yourself rather than swimming.
Minimal staff -who worked hard multitasking to keep the place running. They kindly provided an earlier breakfast we had to leave early.
Wifi is weak with poor bandwidth. Better to use your own 3G or 4G cellular connection.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet in keeping with the theme of a former convent.

What a surprise when we entered, This is an exceptional place to relax. Situated in a quiet village In beautiful countryside, yet near enough to the beautiful small town of Zafra. Hospederia made us very welcome and the staff are so helpful, they could not do enough for us. We ate in the restaurant both nights and were not disappointed - the food was fantastic. We will be back soon.

Room Tip: The rooms are so inviting, You will relax well here.

We tried to get into the Parador at Zafra but it was booked solid. So were all the other hotels in town. Then it started to rain buckets. When we found that there was one room left at the Convent in Parra, we set out (about 15 mins) for it. After driving through teensy back streets in Parra, we arrived at the understated address. But when the big doors swung open to reveal the charming anteroom and they welcomed us in, it was a sweet surprise. The central courtyard is surrounded by simple but elegant white-washed rooms where you can almost feel a sacred presence. Towels are huge and fluffy and are embroidered with Vive Despacio. The interior of our room had a smooth vaulted ceiling and walls and ceiling were white stucco that fairly glowed. A peaceful, natural, quiet sleep and good food in the dining room if you can wait until 9:30 to eat.

Charming place to stay, but by no means luxurious. It is a Convent by design! It's been transformed into a charming getaway for adults (no kids allowed), but the fact that the pueblo of Parra is quite limited as a destination, the atmosphere of this hotel is quite subdued.

The single room I was in had no TV. If it did, the noise would echo throughout the wing. Internet is available in the courtyard area only.

If one is looking for a place to relax the mind and getaway from it all, this place is great.

Only open from March to October.
