Nice Inn with pool and gym approximately 5-10 minutes drive away. The Inn itself is very nice with 2 good on-site restaurants. Additionally, the village of Woodstock is very cute with many good dinning options within very short walking distances right outside the door. Killington ski area is ~15-20 minutes drive. Each room has its own fireplace. When we stayed, the firewoods would not stay on once the fire-starters go out. My main gripe is that "resort" confers food, spa, pool and gym. Staying at Woodstock in does include all these options, however, you'll have to bring your swimsuits/work out clothes, get out in cold, drive to the fitness center and drive back afterwards. When you're on vacation, you look for convenience, quality, & cleanliness. This definitely affects the convenience factor of the resort.

Great Inn nestled just off the highway in VT. Make sure you visit the Tavern and ask for Billy. He knows the best drinks, he's very nice and will make your stay memorable. The Woodstock Inn is like Lays potatoe chips, you'll be back for more!

We just had a great Presidents' Weekend at the Woodstock Inn. While it was a buys weekend, everything worked relatively smoothly and the service was very good. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet every day. The only other meal we had at the Inn was room service dinner for my two daughters. Food was good but it took quite awhile for it to show up. I suspect this was a result of the busy nature of the hotel over Presidents' Weekend.

My wife and I enjoy the Spa which was first rate. The whole family went swimming and hit the gym at the Rec Center. Again a first rate facility. The Inn's location is fantastic for exploring the town of Woodstock. Great restaurants in town as well as great shops. We skied at Suicide Six and Killington. Suicide Six is an old school Mountain that needed some more snow. If the snow is good then definitely try a day at that area. Crowds will be much less than those at Killington. Killington was packed but offered great terrain and very good ski grooming.

The rooms were excellent and very comfortable. Cleaning staff was very good and courteous. The concierge was very helpful and responsive. Defiinitely try Richardson's Tavern for a drink (which we did) or a casual dinner (very tempted to do but ultimately went out on the town).

Overall a great weekend at the Woodstock Inn. We will definitely return to the Inn.

Stayed here during Hurricane in 2011 to escape NYC -- and as it flooded the hotel came together and acted so amazingly that we came back Valentine's Weekend.

Wow - this place is so special. Everything was just perfect! Truly if you want to escape into the country but still enjoy quality food, service and beautiful scenery- stay here!

Having your wedding registry at Simon Pearce entitles you to a free night at the Woodstock Inn & Resort and dinner at the Simon Pearce restaurant. The first night was on Sion Pearce and the second night was a reasonable $280. Halfway through our first year of marriage we took a weekend out of Boston and drove the short 2 hour trip up to Woodstock. Getting out of the city for a weekend is a religious experience in its own right...but walking into the lobby of the Woodstock Inn you are welcomed by a huge fireplace and instantly your shoulders drop and you let go of all of the stress from the city. The room was large, bright and clean, with a large 4 poster bead. The bathroom was clean and newly re-done in white marble.

Dinner the first night was at Osteria Pane e Salute, one of the best meals of our life, living within close proximity of the North End (and being married to an italian) makes me a somewhat of an authority on italian food and this wildly exceeded expectations. The owners/hosts/chefs Deirdre and Caleb are amazing and this tiny restaurant provides a much needed difference in dining experience. Encouraged to take our time and enjoy locally sourced food and home made wines, we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Coming back to the Inn after a day spent skiing at Killington we enjoyed drinks in the Richardson's Tavern, a must do for anyone coming through woodstock, the old charm mixed with new creative cocktails and local beers is an absolute home run. The staff was warm and friendly, the bartender Michael making my wife a wonderful cinnamon martini made with house infused cinnamon liquors and I enjoyed a local beer on tap. Rachel, a waitress, entertained us with warm conversation and Phillip brought our drinks promptly with a smile.

The SPA at the Inn looked amazing but we didn't have the time to partake, although it looked so wonderful we will certainly make sure to plan another visit solely on its behalf. The Inn was quite busy with a large group from Boston but the staff and the physical building were well equipped to handle the group as well as us weary individual travelers.

In a world of excess luxury, resorts dripping with Mercedes signs, bath-tubs made of imported italian marble and $50 valet parking its refreshing to spend a weekend in a relaxed atmosphere evocative of the way New England grew up...raw, true to itself and working locally not as a fad but as a way of life. A short two hours form Boston this experience should not be missed.
