Very good, comfortable hotel in Fundão. Good size rooms, nice bathroom. Many choices for breakfast, yoghurts, fruits, cereals. Coffee could be better. There is a very big swimmingpool, also nice for kids.

We stayed for only one night unfortunately. The front desk staff is amazing and very kind. The man who checked us in on the evening of the 23rd of December was one of the best receptionists I've ever contacted with.
We had dinner at the restaurant and it was soooooo delicious! We payed around 50€ for two people but it was well spended. I had the codfish and my husband the steak. The steak is enough for two!
The only improvements that I see that are needed are the "walls". We could hear the cleaning staff during the morning, the variety of the breakfast: maybe some products from Fundao, and the halls are very chilly in the morning.
Overrall amazing hotel, amazing staff!
We will definitely come back!!

We were aware that this is a resort and would probably have avoided it in the summer, but the location was ideal for the first night of our run from Lagos to the Santander ferry, and we figured it would be calmer by mid October.
From the car park, it looked a bit grim, but the interior and the welcome from reception staff soon dispelled that. We were given a standard double on the first floor that overlooked the pools and rear garden. Up to date decor and a comfortable bed were a plus, but the modern bathroom with two walls completely mirrored was too much. The entry to the shower over the bath was lethal, as it was not only smooth porcelain at the point of access but no grab rails were provided at all. To turn the shower on you had to open the glass leaf door which clashed against the sink, and reach right across to turn the tap. Maybe other bathrooms were safer and more thoughtfully designed but this was dangerous.
The reverse cycle heater worked well and we had a comfortable night, with no undue noise despite it being Saturday, and the in house restaurant was very good.
Breakfast was in the hotel dining room and was good with plenty of fruit and yoghurt and fresh bread and scrambled eggs. The coffee was from a mixing machine and was not up to normal standard res of coffee on Portugal.
On leaving we were entertained by a charming and knowledgeable man in reception, who went into great detail of activities and sights in the local area.
On the whole we were impressed by the whole package and aim to return for a longer stay off season to explore, as long as the bathroom is improved.

When we first entered the room, I spotted a bottle cap on the floor. This means they are not thorough cleaning the rooms when someone checks out. Also the pool nr 3 was never cleaned. We were the first ones arriving at the pool, and we could see
the bottom full of hairs and some plastic.
Be aware that they might have private events scheduled, which means they will cut off the access to part of the pool nr 2.
At the main pool they have live music in the afternoon, which gives a nice ambiance.
The bed was small, as well as the bathroom. The washstand was appropriate only for children.
The breakfast had the minimum requirements, and with no organization.
As for the restaurant, the food is generally good, and the price is high, but one dish is enough for 2, if you are an average eater. Expect to leave more than 20€ for 2 people (if you order only one dish).
I won't come back.
