This resort has lovely wide runs and many traditional cosy huts to stop for lunch or a hot chocolate. However, I was disappointed in the lift service and how outdated the infrastructure is here. After buying a new white jacket I was extremely frustrated to have oil dripped on it on two of the lifts. I have never experienced anything like this at any of the other resorts I’ve been too. After visiting the Arlberg area in Austria earlier this year, the lifts in the Monterosa area seemed slow and in need of an update.

This resort has everything. Extreme high mountain small old villages (St Jakob). Very good restaurants. Best off piste skiing ever. Fantastics views to Matterhorn, Castore, Pollux, Pyramide Vincents and many more. The piste from Salatti to Alagna is one of the longest and deepest runs in the Alps...my best recommandations..

Great slopes, long and wide. Almost nobody there, especially in Alagna, like skiing in a private resort. Hidden gem, they say. This us our first time and we agree. Not so many slopes but great and long!!! Definitely not only for freeriders.

Great red and black lengthy runs for advanced skiers, beautiful senery. Paradise for freeriders. Big minus for the lifts, most of them are almost antique and very slow. Huge difference compared to France. The old village of Alagna is beautiful with great restaurants and Piemonte wines. Peaceful atmosphere.
