A stunning location, unbelievable food, professionalism top.

I went there with my family and fiancée as we wanted to chose this place among another 3 or 4 for our wedding. The way we were welcomed was awesome, the waiter that served us spoke very good English and all the other waiters were very professional. Now the food is really outside of this world, the best raw fish I have ever had, but the pasta's dishes we had were so tasty....I read the story of the current chef but also the owners, they are really top professionals and they really do care about their clients. I am stunned that they do not have a michelin start as yet, I would give them 3 not 1. There and then myself and my fiancée decided that this would be the place were we want to spend our marriage in 2018..

I can only imagine their restaurant in London where we live, there would be long queue and always full. Please let me know if you ever want to open a franchising ;-)..

Thoroughly enjoyed our outdoor lunch. Food was refined and impeccably fresh; presentation lovely. Next time will go back for dinner -- unfortunately we were just stopping in Trani for a few hours, but lunch at Le Lampard al Fortino was time well spent (good value too).

Judging by other English-language reviews we read here, the management of Le Lampare al Fortino must entrust its English-speaking guests to waiter Gaetano Tassiello,
who has done English-immersion working in London restaurants but whose heart is in warm and sun-drenched Puglia. His welcome was warm, his attention constant, and the high ceilings in the old fortification the restaurant occupies provide an uplift to match.

Each course--from the antipasti served "on the house" to the spaghettone vicidomini (1st course) to the ombrina (a fish second course)--provided an unexpected twist on traditional themes, and each was without exception delicious. It's a restaurant best enjoyed on an expense account, but as an occasional special splurge it's even worth it out of your own pocket.

A converted church on the edge of the harbour the self proclaimed 'House of Fish' certainly lived up to its billing. We were well looked after by our superb waiter Gaetano who served us a selection of his favourite dishes. We are big fans of Pesce Crudo (raw fish) and as such, enjoyed a sumptuous platter to start with which contained raw oysters, prawns, langoustines, sea urchins, squid, mussels and clams.

This was followed by another smaller selection of raw fish which had either been prepared or dressed. We then enjoyed a pasta course of Gaetano's choosing which was a thoroughly enjoyable Sea Urchin dish accompanied with a separate clam dish with hazelnut. We probably wouldn't have ordered these however we were very grateful we had tried them as they were delicious. Finally we enjoyed two great puddings, again of Gaetano's choosing but it was the fish that was the clear stand out.

A romantic setting and environment with a large service team who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. A must if you are visiting Trani.
