Thank you for staying with us and for commenting on your stay. We're delighted you enjoyed your room, and we sincerely appreciate your patience with the refrigerator issue. We've apologize and want to assure you that we've rectified that. We're also glad that the breakfast helped you get a great start to your day.
We hope to see you again soon.
We stayed 2 nights for the 4th of July. The room was big with 2 queen beds. Love the fridge and microwave to heat up leftovers. Everything in that room was in working order and nothing was falling apart. I really don’t have anything negative to say. The staff was impeccable, welcoming, very warm- manager, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance. Brian, the general manager was very visible an personable. He treated us to Dunkin’ Donuts for 4th of July in addition to breakfast. The breakfast had a good variety—fresh oranges, apples and bananas, brand name yogurts with different flavors, 2% and fat free milk, etc, etc. There are even “grab & go” bags for people who would like to take extra. During the day there was cold water infused with fruit and next to it, there was a printout of best places to see the fireworks/Boston Pops. The elevators were fine— only one didn’t display the floor number. I have been in worse elevators in more expensive hotels in NYC. I found the area safe. The building across the street is not appealing, but the area is going throughout a beautiful transformation. There is a condo building being built next to the hotel, a couple mnts down the street there used to be a low budget parking lot, now there are new residential/office buildings. A couple mnts away, there is a pharmacy, grocery store, Marshall’s, McDonald’s, etc. We walked to Duck Tours without a problem. After the fireworks, around 11PM, we walked from MIT to the hotel (about 25mnts) and didn’t feel our safety was at risk.
Fatima, thank you very much for making our stay so enjoyable. Idabess, you are a bright star of the nigh shift!
Thank you for the wonderful, detailed review. Most important, we sincerely appreciate the kind words regarding the service provided by both Fatima and Idabess - two stars on team. We're fortunate to have large rooms, and we're delighted that you find them to be well maintained. Thank you also for the excellent feedback on our breakfast - it's very important to us that we provide great quality and variety here to our guests. Thank you for returning and noticing the changes in our area. East Cambridge is developing very fast and we're lucky to be right in the middle of that. We hope you will visit again in a few months to see the continued improvements.
We love HIE...this one was a bit tight. The decor wasn't as cool or hip or fresh as the usual HIE. Our room overlooked the back parking lot, which is very small. As other reviewers said you get lucky if you get to park here , if not you are across a busy four lane street in a sketchy looking lot that doesn't have any sign of being part of the hotel (literally). The lobby is tiny. The staff was very friendly. The left elevator was clunky and didn't have a working light to tell you which floor you were on. The room was small, and the bottom of the bed , or the rubber covering the boxspring was so torn up I was creeped out and lifted the mattress to look before I feel asleep. A simple bed skirt would have un cruddied up the room,... a lot. There needs to be more places in the breakfast area to dispose of trash, There was one trash can, so when you got your creamer, there was no place close to throw away the creamer containers, when you finished with your stir same thing..this was all the way around the breakfast area. Overall I would probably pay the extra $30 to stay somewhere a bit nicer next time, it wasn't enough of a saving to warrant the things you forfeit here. We were here for an MIT visit. We ended up taking a cab which was about $10. We also went into Harvard Square, also about $10 for a cab, and lastly went to Quincy Market. This hotel was central to all three.
We sincerely appreciate your loyalty to Holiday Inn Express. We are disheartened to hear that your stay with us wasn't up to your usual experience with the brand. While we are glad to hear that our team was friendly, we agree that there is no excuse for the room issues you mentioned. We are working to rectify those items as quickly as possible. We do have about 40 parking spots attached to the hotel. On rare occasions, these fill up and we were forced to find additional spots where our guests could park legally without fear of being ticketed or towed. While we did that, we realize that is only a start, and we are working to either improve that facility or find another option. Likewise, we've made several upgrades to our elevators since your visit and have a few more scheduled to continue those improvements.
Thank you sincerely for your feedback. Just OK isn't good enough, and we can assure you that all of these items are getting our immediate attention.
Good location, near a bus/subway interchange. Very good A/C. Friendly staff. Free breakfast. We stayed in Cambridge for three weeks, the first week here at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Boston/Cambridge and the next two weeks at a 5 star at another brand (because I'm an idiot chasing lifetime platinum status) ... to make a long story short, we missed the Holiday Inn after leaving.
Not a lot of frills, but solid, helpful customer service and nice amenities.
Will definitely consider this location again when in Cambridge.
We're sorry you left us, but glad to hear we were missed! We sincerely appreciate the kind words on our service, accommodations and breakfast. It's true we strive to provide the basics, but it means a lot to us to get them right. We wish you the best in attaining your goal with that other brand. After that, we hope your next goal involves IHG Rewards points and that we can help you with that!
Stayed for business and pleasure. Parking lot was easy to get into and had a wonderful driveway for Uber drivers to pick us up. Very quiet inside with super comfy beds. Convenient location next to restaurants and shopping. Never felt unsafe in this neighborhood walking around with two kids. Good comp breakfast with a variety of food. Very nice general manager who talked with us and gave us a little parting gift when we were leaving, overall the entire staff was very friendly and went out of their way to give advice and assistance if needed. We were very happy with our stay. No complaints whatsoever.
Thank you so much for choosing us. We sincerely appreciate the feedback on our area. We love our area near Cambridge Street in East Cambridge - it's become such a great spot for dining over the last few years. There are even some great breakfast options there but we're glad that our very own options for that provided a great breakfast for your family. Thank you for the kind words on our team. We're glad we were able to connect, and hope that we will see you again.
I'm a frequent business travler and cannot say enough good things about the customer service at this hotel! Check in was quick and easy. Room was up to date and very clean. Bed was very comfortable. They were extremely helpful giving dining recommendations and went the extra mile to make sure I had a comfortable stay. Dana is the best! Thank you so much for the breakfast sandwich before my early flight. Will definitely stay here again when I am in the area!
