People from around the world come to visit and learn about holograms, kinetic art, artificial intelligence and original research that has shaped the world. FebFest and the Cambridge Science Festival fill winter and spring school vacation weeks, while the very fun "Friday After Thanksgiving" chain reaction event is held nearby at an MIT gymnasium, while produced by the Museum. The MIT Museum also has a physical and online science-themed store, and the galleries are available for small functions. Went with my 10 y old son, lots of interesting stuff: student class projects were great and the AI exhibit was fascinating. The museum store is a gem! Highly recommended. We both loved it.

Kinetic sculptures, numerous interactive displays, interesting display of holograms. Good mix of design, photography as well as engineering pieces made by faculty. There is a room of student projects that is lots of fun. Bringing high school and middle school kids is a fun way to introduce them to robotics, design, engineering.

I have been to several museums around the world, but this one was really boring and a complete waist of time and money, moreover there is no car park!

This was an on-the-whim visit, as we wanted to check out both Harvard and MIT. This was the best of everything college-related we did. It is fun, quirky, and definitely something I'll remember forever! I would suggest anyone in the area to check it out if you haven't already.

I expected to see the technology evolution over the time, instead I saw just a simple collection that wasn't impressive enough to support the MIT name.
