I stumbled across Harbour Flights having studied Loch Lomond Seaplanes in Scotland and wondered why no one had thought of such a venture in Ireland. Having spent all of my youth spending holidays in Mayo and Galway, then going to college in Shannon I feel I am well placed to understand the beautiful scenery from Achill to Loop Head incorporating Croagh Patrick, Clew Bay, the Killary, Connemara, Galway Bay, the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher, to say nothing of the Shannon and its lakes.
Friends from Switzerland joined me in taking two brief flights from Mountshannon over Lough Derg which were spectacular.
The lady in the office, Rose, issued us with our Boarding passes, and then Sesmus from Cong gave us a safety briefing after which we took to the air.
I was impressed with the set up, and wish Harbour Flights well with this exciting adventure. They really deserve to succeed
Having gone for a family drive on a day off, I was pleasantly delighted to find that my fiancé had arranged a birthday treat for me. I saw a beautiful seaplane by the marina and was told "you're going up on that". I've always wanted to take off and land on water and harbour flights made it the best experience ever. This is a very professional set-up with a very friendly group of people making the experience second to none.
