Out of all the hotels we had booked for our holiday, this was the one we were most looking forward to staying in but were let down badly.

The room was dirty, dirty blankets, sheets - dirty telephone, stained sofa seats, dirty towels with lipstick and other unmentionables on them - dirty w.c. The other problem was that no one was around who could make a decision and the "girl" who came from the reception area had a bad attitude and asked us "what we wanted" to which we replied "a clean ROOM" - she brought in another lady after about an hour and she started to put on another dirty blanket on the bed - at this point I told them to get out! We sat around for nearly 3hrs waiting for the owners wife to arrive - she is a lovely person but the whole episode ruined this part of the holiday for us. It was all so unnecessary with ridiculous excuses about having had a large wedding party etc etc - what's that got to do with having a clean room? The dirt on the sofas and telephone didn't happen over night.

The other thing is that if you wanted something to eat (room service) you have to order off the 2* Michelin Menu - you can't get a sandwich or something else that doesn't cost a mortgage.

At the pool there is no water or refreshments offered like in other 5* establishments.

The place itself is lovely, with great views over the valley and towards St Paul de Vence but we paid for a 5 day break and didn't feel comfortable staying here. Other members of staff, especially the lady who checked us out, were rude and "offish" - we only met her once before but she had obviously made up her mind about us because we dared to complain about the low standard of the room.

The free wi-fi was also very hit and miss.

We stayed here for 1 night on our way back home after a week long break in Nice. We have stayed at a few if the hotels in st.paul de Vence previously but fancied a change and the one micheln star restaurant looked gorgeous. We were not let down. The room was gorgeous. Very large and easily accomodated an extra bed for our 2 kids (3,4). Our room had access to the communal pool and was at garden level. I would highly recommend it. The restaurant views and food were fabulous. Although pricey, ESP for our kids!!! we did feel it was worth it and totally enjoyed ourselves. Will defo be back when passing through Nice next time.

We loved everything about Alain LLorca. It's beautifully situated, overlooking St. Paul de Vence. The grounds are beautiful, with sculptures in the grass, stone buildings, and a well-hidden pool. The staff was very accommodating and sweet. Our room was spacious and had a private outdoor sitting area. We dined in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our meal and service. It was relaxing and just perfect!

Very comfortable, spacious room. The room had a comfortable bed and couch sitting area, plus a very large balcony directly overlooking La Colle sur Loup, and with a view of Saint-Paul-de-Vence off to the left. The room also had a very large bathroom area, with both a very large shower plus a large soaker (not jacuzzi) tub. There are wonderful pieces of modern art scattered about the hotel grounds, including nice flower landscaping. The property has a pool, with views looking up at Saint-Paul-de-Vence. The two-way driveway down from the street to the somewhat narrow parking lot below was a rather narrow one-lane, but no problems experienced (as we didn't encounter a car coming the opposite direction). The restaurant on site is a one-starred Michelin experience. The beautiful village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence (including restaurants) and the Fondation Maeght art museum are both just a 5 minute drive away.

We went off season in January so it was quite chilly. The room however was delightful. Very spacious and yet cosy, beautifully appointed with a touch of art. The views are spectacular as you can gaze over the city. The staff are friendly. The restuarant is worth a visit.
