“Wonderful Place to stay at in Anchorage, Alaska”
Reviewed 5 January 2012

Four of us stayed here for 2 nights. Del-Ann & Lori were great. Our breakfasts were outstanding, the best reindeer sausage, home-made hash browns, great eggs etc. They were both very helpful with directions, giving us a run-down on some sights to see. The rooms were very clean and so tastefully decorated. The views from the deck gave you great sunset pictures, and we even had a view of Mt. McKinley. This was one of the Bed & Breakfasts that really highlighted our vacation.

Room Tip: Any room would be suitable - they are all neat, clean and tastefully decorated.

We just stayed here for 6 nights and it was excellent. It is a beautiful suburban Alaska home overlooking Anchorage with great views. There are multiple decks and windows. I was there with my 2 kids and we stayed in the downstairs suite which was perfect for 3 of us. It had a refrigerator and coffee maker. There is gorgeous living room for guests to use. Everything is comfortable and impeccably clean. The breakfasts are delicious and huge. The hosts are very welcoming, accomodating and helpful. They have paid attention to every detail to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Absolutely wonderful. First of all, the house is beautiful. It's a lodge style home in the hills above Anchorage, and it has decks all around, so you can have a perfect view of Cook Inlet and Flattop mountain. Inside, the living room is huge, with cathedral ceilings and exposed wood beams. The place is spotlessly clean, and the owners have attended to every detail to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Guests can use the living room, tv, and deck. They have a mini fridge for you to store your food too.

I stayed in the Moose Trails room, which is decorated in a moose theme (of course). The bed is great (brand new mattress), with a cute stuffed moose to keep you company. There is a small tv and some Alaska videos to watch. The bathroom is shared with the next room over (it's attached), and is stocked with plenty of clean fluffy towels. The room has a view of the mountains out back.

The breakfasts here are amazing. I got a full home cooked breakfast every single day. The menus included french toast (with a choice of maple syrup, strawberry rhubarb syrup, cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar), reindeer sausage, western style eggs, hash browns, breakfast burrito, and toast. Fresh fruit was also at the table every morning, as well as juice, milk, and coffee.

All in all, it was a wonderful experience staying here. The owners are great people and gave me a real Alaska welcome. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip.

My husband, myself and my parents stayed at Susitna Sunsets for 2 nights after a 7 day Alaskan cruise. We were looking for a comfortable place to stay that also gave a unique Alaskan experience. This B-N-B was the perfect place! Lori and Del Ann bent over backwards to make us all feel right at home, and provided the most delicious breakfasts before we set out on our full days of Alaskan adventures. We also got a close up view of a moose as she walked thru the backyard one morning with her baby!
We stayed in the Woodlands suite. The beds were very comfortable. Everything about the stay made you feel at home, with extra pampering!
We will definitely recommend this to anyone staying in Anchorage; and will stay again if we make it back to Alaska!

Room Tip: The wildlife room had the best view of the moose;both were comfortable.

This was a lucky find for us. We had booked another B&B but they did not have our reservation in their books. So with only a month before our trip, we had to find another place. This B&B is beautiful, the rooms are very clean and lovely. Susitna Sunset B&B over looks Anchorage.
The breakfast food was great, especially the French toast and reindeer sausage. Coffee and tea available 24/7. There are snacks to enjoy and a small refrigerator to keep your own food. Lori and Del Ann makes you feel that you are truly welcomed in their house.
