“dirtiest hotel ever”
Reviewed 11 February 2009

looking for a hotel in Anchorage near the airport since we were leaving the next day...checked into a somewhat questionable lobby and found our way to our room...when entering, it was something out of a horror movie...floors were filthy, bedding did not look like it had been washed in years...window fixed open with no screens (anyone could 'mush-in'), room smelled and when trying to turn on the fan/thermostat - the cover plate was gone with exposed wiring...bathroom was another disaster where you would be dirtier trying to use it...went to the store to buy air freshner but it didn't help...went back to the lobby to say the room was not acceptable and they would not refund our money...needless to say, we went elsewhere to spend the night....

We picked up a brochure at the airport Kiosk regarding this motel after we got bumped off a flight at 2am. We just wanted a cheap place to stay for a few hours before we went back to the airport. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. However she had to sit behind her bullet proof glass. There was a sign on the wall that read something like: "after the police are called for the eighth time", the strip clubs are right around the corner. This is the most seedy part of town. This place is not safe do not stay here under any circumstances. We had the taxi driver take us back to the airport, we did not get any sleep but we are still alive.

Program I booked through rated this motel as 3 stars. Ain't no way this place deserves a star. The shower did not work. The room had a moldy smell. It was OK at best for a one night overnite before I went to the Kenai for a fishing trip. However it was not the lowest price I found, just convenient for my transportation.
The place actually is used as apartments by some folks in the area. It has stove, small fridge and restroom. Rooms are oversized but that is the only feature I would say was good.
Nothing to recommend it for the $90.00 a night it cost.
I would not pay over $25.00 for this accomodation in the lower 48. If I had not known that there were better in Alaska, I might have been scared off from coming back. Heck if I saw this before I saw the rest of Alaska I might have turned around and left.

  • Liked — It was close to a friends place who was picking me up.
  • Disliked — Shower did not work, room smelled.

the windows in our room wouldn't shut, some of the eletric sockets didn't work, the water was dirty, the boiler seemed to shut off alot, the oven didn't work, our extra key wasn't avaliable i was told another person that stayed there had it, very scary to walk at night, i was told there was roaches in every building, lots of the rooms needed repairing badly, the laundry room isn't no laundry room the washers and dryer needs to be updated i mean who unplugs the drier then plugs it back in to the socket to make it work? water leaks mostly all over, the fire alarm in our room didn't work, while we were cleaning our room we found pills and drugs on the floor and in the dressers, the vaccume they gave us wasn't the best at all it was taped together and very scary to use, mostly every time we walked out of our room we'd look down the hall ways and we'd see many people out side for a party cause it was too packed in the room, also we were staying there when that shooting in feb. of 2007 happened VERY SCARY! when i talked to the front desk i was told that the owner or manager doesn't do anything besides sit in front of the t.v. watching the survalence cameras and get mad at the workers for something they did that wasn't in training, the training was pretty much just make sure people check in and make sure they paid, i was also told that he would go out side and kick the homeless people to wake them up to tell them to go away from the hotel, i was also told that his excuess for not repairing the hotel was that he was always tired. ah hello?! thats why you hire people to do things like that! other than that, don't waste ur money here unless they get a new owner and if you recently heard that the place was remodled! its not worth it to stay there! just get back in your car and park somewhere safe and stay the night in there, its rather much safer!

Absolute horror! Dirty smelly carpet; windows, door locks, cabinets don't work. Everything seems to be falling apart. No wonder we were the only guests there. Never seen a dump like this in my life! But the receptionsts are very friendly and ready to help.

  • Liked — Nothing really
  • Disliked — Dirt and disrepair everywhere
  • Tips/Secrets — Stay in chain hotels, they at least have standards of cleanliness and comfort; it's worth extra money you pay.
