Description: Sunny side up since 1998! We're a popular downtown brunch spot where the staff is friendly, the food is tasty, and breakfast is served all day. Our mission is to use the freshest ingredients available and buy from local vendors whenever we can. Most everything we serve is made from scratch, and with plenty of love. We care about good food, our community, the environment, and making people happy. We offer a variety of vegan & gluten-free options, as well as a range of healthy choices, such as egg whites, fat-free cooking spray, or a side of fruit instead of hash browns. Substitutions are welcome. Come check us out, and see why Anchorage locals have voted us "Best Breakfast" in the Anchorage Press since 2003! The eggs beniedict on a crab cake was fantastic, The lineups to get in 40 min to 1,5 hrs are a no go for me. However if you arrive early enough on a weekday the lineups can be avoided and you will have a great meal. Top notch wait staff..

Their food is all homemade and there are so many wonderful items to choose from. Breakfast is the best, but they also have an array of items for lunch.

Wife and I visited this popular Anchorage bistro located on the corner of West 4th Avenue and L Street on a Sunday morning in March 2012. We arrived a little after 10 and found the place awash with people. Walked up and gave my name to the hostess, who advised the wait would be 45 minutes to an hour. Her estimate was accurate, as we were seated just before 11:30 a.m. A tip - if you want a cup of coffee while waiting (not to-go), just walk up to the self-serve station in the corner and help yourself. It's an honor system arrangement, just tell your server when seated that you got yourself a cup of coffee so they can put it on your bill.

Wife always has the crab omelet and I decided to do the same this time. It came served with a square of delicious has browns and a thick piece of toast. While the appearance of the hash browns could lead one to conclude they were institutional in nature, the taste suggested otherwise. The omelet exuded a strong aroma of crab - not objectionable-strong, but with enough presence to let you know what you were about to bite into. It was really good, looked large but went down quickly and I felt comfortably satiated upon having consumed it.

Service for us was good. They came by several times to fill water glasses and coffee cups. Total for the coffee and the omelets came to $29.90 (tip not included). The check came by itself, just after the server noticed we had finished our meals. I didn't feel rushed but it was clear they wanted to turn the table over. I don't blame them, and frankly I was glad they took the initiative to present the bill without me having to ask.

Snow City Cafe was remodeled to twice its original size about five years ago. Like Moose's Tooth, another popular Anchorage eatery that went through an expansion, it did little to abate the wait. The reason: the food is very good, artfully prepared, and the clientele realize it. If you decide to come here, be prepared to wait. I have never regretted waiting, as the food does not disappoint.

Maybe we should have ordered one of their specialites. We went for breakfast and ordered traditional eggs, bacon, and toast with a pancake for dessert. Food was ok, though the pancake was tough and heavy. Next time I'll try a benedict. Maybe they are the stand outs. You can serve yourself coffee or tea while you are waiting for a table which is a nice touch.
