To make a long story short: Problems - working on our house remodel, power turned off for 48 hours, need a place to stay and found this motel close to home, explained our problem and asked if we could get in before checking time, husband ends up in emergency hospital call with surgery scheduled in the morning. Solutions - they called me as soon as the room was ready, we checked in and I told them we had to head for hospital, not only did they offer to cancel our room without penalty, they went out of their way to help us out and make sure we had all we needed. This is an older motel that has been upgraded. It doesn’t look as nice outside as it does inside. Our room was super clean and roomy, the bed was very comfortable, and there was plenty of parking. I didn’t even know this little motel was in West Seattle, but it’s great to know it’s there when we have too many guests. Thank you very much for such a warm welcoming experience.

There aren't too many hotels in this area so we were very happy to find the Grove. In comparison to other hotels in Seattle the Grove is very affordable. Rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Free parking at the hotel, downtown Seattle is about a 15 minute drive. Laundry room on site which we used. Standard continental breakfast, there is also a Trader Joe's close by and lots of restaurants and shopping on California Ave. Overall this was the perfect hotel for what we needed and will definitely be staying here again when we return to Seattle.

I didn't actually stay at The Grove, but I'm reviewing it anyway. A local nonprofit was having an event nearby and anticipated needing the room. Plans changed and the room was no longer needed, but we missed the cancellation deadline by a couple of hours. They were within their rights to charge us full price for the room, but they didn't. Thank you to The Grove for supporting other local businesses with your community spirit, understanding and generosity.

Fair-priced motel in west Seattle. Staff was very friendly and the room was clean. Continental breakfast was below average (fruit salad not the freshest). A car or public transportation is necessary to get to any site-seeing areas or ballparks.

This is a very basic no frills hotel, which was fine because that's all we needed this trip. However, for the $140+ price tag it is expensive. The rooms are clean but very tired. Stained carpets, black stained shower tiles grout, scratched up toilets and worn out chairs are a few issues.

Staff were pleasant and helpful, grounds are kept neat and clean, and some parking available-just don't try finding one after 8 pm.

Overall, I believe one could find nicer accommodations for not much more if you're willing to stay in the north end of Seattle. The Grove definitely takes advantage of Seattle pricing without providing equitable accommodations.
