During the day this place is full of folks and everyone seems to have a positive purpose. Great place on a sunny day.

Very pretty, in a very nice area. Not ghetto at all. Parking is rough, but not horrible.

A good walk, even in rainy weather. Can get a little busy, but not a mob/crowd scene.

This is a wonderful center of Seattle city park on the order of greatness as is Central Park in New York. Activities include running, walking, dog walking, picnicing, basketball, bike ridding, skating, etc. And in the summer months, there is swimming and non-motor boating. On the north side there's even a wading pool for the little ones. While it can get crowded when the weather is nice, it's still a wonderful place to be.

Green Lake is a nice park nestled into the suburban area just north of downtown Seattle. It's a nice getaway with a few little eateries around it which are tasty. The main attraction for locals is the bike/running path around the lake, which can get very crowded during the peak exercise hours (mornings, evenings, and weekends). Some folks view Green Lake as the place to be seen exercising, so they make an effort to go there and look 'just right' in their exercise gear - the people watching can be fun.
