Alki, West Seattle, is a wonderful place to get a view of puget sound or play. In the summertime, you will numerous volley ball nets along the beach. You will also see roller blades, skate boards and bicycles. There are also wonderful restaurants with excellent views to enjoy. There is also Starbucks, Subway and Top Pot doughnuts. Look for an airbnb if you want to stay in this area of Seattle.
There is also a water taxi which can take you to and from Downtown Seattle.

Went for a road trip from St Georges Inn. Eventaully passed the truck which had crashed into a very slow train - YES REALLY . We then parked and walked also the promenade, it was our first cloudy day for a fortnights hols, but still good.
Lovely views across the bay, passed a lighthouse, and plenty of free parking and lots of places to eat. Loo was ok too.

This place is about a 15-20 min drive from Seattle downtown. It is not hard to find. I hear you can also get to Alki Beach by ferry from the docks. There is a long, curving road that follows the shore as you head South and on the left side are shops, places to eat, and cafes. We snacked at a coffee place called Tully's. Not bad. Ample parking places here, but we went on a workday. You can see the ferries to and from Bainbridge Island from Alki Beach. There is a long, pedestrian walkway along the beach for you to enjoy.

We loved this place, plenty of water activities, a lot of fun bars and restaurants, and it has the most awesome view of Seattle!

We utilized AirBNB for lodging during our visit to Seattle and selected a place located on Alki Beach. I HIGHLY recommend Alki Beach. It is a 10-minute drive to downtown Seattle, and it's so nice to sit on the 2nd floor of Duke's Chowder House and watch the sun set, people walking their dogs,Seattle skyline, etc. We plan to return to Seattle as we didn't see it all, and we will stay on Alki Beach.
