“Good Hostel, Great Location”
Reviewed 12 April 2012

We stayed here late March 2012.

Location location location! This is a great start off point to explore Seattle. Across the street from Pike Market your in the middle of it all!
The hostel itself is good. We stayed in a privat room. The beds are ok. Rooms are quite and clean. The shared bathrooms are big and clean. Good shower.
Breakfast is good and plenty.
Personnel is super friendly and very informative.

Tip for diner: Pike Brewery, 1415 1st Avenue (around the corner)

Room Tip: We stayed in private room 218. I think it is above the rec room. You may here some activity from dow...

Stayed here 4 nights - first night was a 1 star but the others were so good it made it to 5 stars in my book.

First night we were stuck in a room with a drunk 50-60 year old man who had been drinking whiskey and smoking until he stumbled in at 12:30am, peeking in everyone's privacy curtains, turning on the main room light, gobbing off at everyone and finally coma-ing in a choking, gurgling, deafening snore that required be to resort to a 3am sleeping pill.

In the morning I informed the guy at the front desk and he moved us to a LOVELY room, overlooking Pike Place Market with a big window, and he was so nice he actually helped to move all our bags and strip the bed (we tipped because of the service which is rare in a hostel).

The rest of our stay was a delight with all of the staff being very friendly, genuine, helpful. The Pub Crawl hosted by Sascha was a huge highlight especially going to Kurt Cobain's last known spot seen alive in public and other local dives - AWESOME.

The free breakfasts were great, we made heaps of friends, and the free dinners (not every night) were unbelievably good with lots of variety and large portions. Stoked.

The Queen bunks are surprisingly comfy and even my girlfriend was cool with it and she isn't used to hostel stays.

The location of course can't be beat - it's really great. A 5-10 min walk to the Convention Centre (we had a con on), lots of great eateries in the vicinity and coffee shops - and quick walk to monorail and only a stumble to pike place market and the waterfront aquarium/ferries etc.

If you aren't used to non-ensuite bathrooms - don't sweat it - the bathrooms are private and spacious and clean.

Overall this was an absolute highlight of our trip and would stay here again.

Room Tip: If you have a nasty snorer or plague-ridden roomy, don't suffer in silence - ask to be moved, th...

The location of this hostel was fantastic and it attracted a variety of different kinds of travellers- young people, business men, families... etc. The rooms were definitely too small, however each bed had it's own curtain (on a rail), power socket and reading lamp which certainly made up for the tight squeeze! The kitchen was pretty good, and guests were allowed free pancake mix! The social room was generally lively at night and I found it very easy to meet people. The staff were sometimes a little bit strict on noise, but I guess they have to be and they were generally nice! All in all, I had a fantastic stay and will go back next time I go to Seattle.

Really enjoyed staying here. Location can't be beaten as its right across from the market and Seattle is pretty walkable in general. Great rooms with comfy beds and curtains you can draw with huge lockers underneath. only downside here I guess is if you can't fit your bag here it would create a bit of a logistical issue in the room. Free dinner 3 nights a week and who can say no to that! Only thing I wish were for slightly more activities going on in terms of city tours but I guess out was just winter down time and more goes on on the city in general as well. But I would definitely stay here again.
