This hotel provides excellent value and convenience. It is moderately priced but provides free, secure parking, which is rare in a hotel that is so close to the center of the city. The location is convenient so that you can drive around the city without having to get onto the freeways, and yet if you do need to drive further away, access to the freeway is fairly easy. If you do not have a car, or if you don't want to hassle with driving into the city, the hotel provides a free shuttle to Pike Place, Pioneer Square and a third location. The rooms are large, quiet and clean, and the fitness facility is one of the best ones I've seen in a non-luxury hotel (at least eight cardio machines, plus Life Fitness and cable machines). The breakfast room is large and airy; the food quality is just so-so (the standard fare - scrambled eggs, sausages, assorted pastries and cereals). All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Seattle, especially someone on a budget.

Excellent hotel. Best value for the money in the area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a King View room on the top floor with a great view of the lake. The room was clean and well furnished. Separate sinks in the bathroom and the bedroom area. Bathroom was spotless; towels were clean and fresh. The A/C units kept the room cool on the low setting and made very little noise. The sliding doors between the bedroom and living area provided our two teenage boys with their "own space." The breakfast is well stocked and provides a great variety of selections. The breakfast area includes a lounge/library section along with an open patio. The free shuttle runs into town every 1/2 hour. We walked to the Space Needle but it was great to have the return shuttle after a long day. There are several good restaurants within a two-block walk of the hotel. We had really good pizza from Pagliacci's delivered one evening for the kids. Easy access to town and freeways from the hotel. And there's no extra charge for parking! One tip: park on the second level; the spaces are still pretty narrow but there is much more room to maneuver.

Room tip: North side, upper floor for a great lake view. The sea planes take off from the south end of the lake and are a bit loud, but it doesn't last long and we were there during Sea Fair weekend so it was probably busier than normal.

This hotel is well situated with a view of Lake Union.
Our room was clean,comfortably appointed with basic cooking facilities.
The bath tub and toilet are separate from the washstand.
The breakfast room, with an outdoor extension, was pleasant;
the food quality was very good.

Room tip: excellent breakfast;free Wifi and parking

I have stayed at this Silver Cloud Inn several times and every time, the staff has been responsive and efficient. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but the location is perfect for those of us receiving treatment at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. The shuttle is a fantastic perk for those of us making the trip to the Alliance for appointments. During my last visit I had a lake view room which was fantastic. Lake Union was spectacular and the hotel view was a wonderful oasis in an otherwise stressful time. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired however. We need healthier food choices with no additives or artificial ingredients, but every hotel serves the same cheap products so Silver Cloud follows the industry standard I guess. Too bad. High fructose corn syrup and other additives are some of the reasons for the rise in illness and cancer in particular so every hotel should take note of healthier choices for their guests. Hope it changes soon.

Room tip: For a quiet sleep choose the side opposite the lake. The view of the lake is great, ,but the road is busy and noisy.

I've stayed at some bigger-named chains near Lake Union but recommend the Silver Cloud Inn. My room was very nicely finished and clean, the breakfast room and outdoor patio is open and bright, and parking/internet are included with the room rate so the overall cost of the stay was much better than similarly located hotels. Great walking along Lake Union and nearby water restaurants as well.
