This hotel certainly met the standards for a hotel such as this. However, I was disappointed in the jacuzzi as there was no air in the jets, just hotish water squirting out! The breakfast was quite poor for a hotel such as this, paper plates and plastic utensils. There was noise transmission between suites; conversations and TV clearly heard. I also found the location somewhat out of the way, a 10-15 minute walk to the shopping area, although they do provide a shuttle once an hour. Unlike other reviews, I heard no noise from the freeway even though my room faced that way. Staff excellent, and very clean property. The Homewood Suites is much closer and a similar style property.

Dear yyjguy,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We are very proud to offer an expanded complimentary breakfast buffet beyond the typical Springhill Suites offering. While I understand that disposable plates and utensils may not be your first choice, they are actually part of our Green program. The plates and utensils are fully compostable and in fact get recycled into compost for local parks and gardens! The energy, water and chemical savings from eliminating the dishwashing process is a large part of our effort to be more eco-friendly. We will do a better job of communicating such practices to our guests as it would certainly seem very wasteful if these items were ending up in a landfill.

I was happy to hear that you were able to take advantage of the convenience of our complimentary shuttle. This is a service that most Seattle hotels have eliminated over the past few years. Thank you so much for the kind remarks about our staff and overall cleanliness, we are lucky to have a tremendous group of dedicated employees.

Thanks again for choosing Springhill Suites, we hope to see you on your next visit to Seattle!

Stayed here for 3 nights in early October..a great experience. Had previously stayed at Homewood Suites, but they had become pricier...lucky for us.
From our check-in (early), to our view from this all-suite hotel, to the valet parking and great location (with shuttles to popular destinations) we were more than satisfied.
A multi-choice hot breakfast and delicious coffee (available 24 hours) and a late checkout for a minimal fee...awesome. Room was quiet although a sports team was on our floor..couldn't hear them. Our toddler had the extra space to run around in..and nap in, and we also enjoyed the pool.
Sound like we were pleased? We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: we requested a high floor...and our room faced south. No water view..but not that far away.

I was a little worried about this hotel being so far from downtown, but it was in a great location. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the Westlake Center and 20 minutes to Pikes Places. It was also located to Capital Hill which has some great little restaurants.

Took awards points to do a college visit for my son - and found this to be the best deal in Seattle. The staff was wonderful - truly trained the Marriott way - and the hotel was clean, and had a great buffet breakfast included. However, this is at the bottom of the Marriott hierarchy. The room on the top floor was plenty spacious, had microwave, coffee maker, and small refridge - and was clean. However, I never stayed in a hotel with see through sheets - really, you could see the tag on the mattress pad - actually, you could read the writing on the mattress pad tag through the sheets! The towels smelled of bleach - but were clean. So at the end of the day - I would stay here again - the friendliness of the staff made up for the lack of luxury. A Marriott is still a Marriott - and you can trust the quality. They served the best clam chowder we had this trip! Somewhat out of the way - but not awful - and the $20 valet parking was relatively reasonable for Seattle.

Room Tip: Upper floors get you away from the street noise!

Dear agbowden,

Thank you for sharing the experience from your recent visit to our hotel. I was very happy to read your outstanding comments about our staff- we are truly lucky to have such a passionate team of people taking care of our guests. I also wanted to share that we are actually in the process of upgrading all of our linens and towels to match what you would experience in full service Marriott Hotels and Resorts. We feel the higher thread count will make a big difference for guests such as yourself.

Thanks also for your comments about our Clam Chowder. In a seafood town like Seattle, that is a big compliment to our culinary team! Thanks again- we hope to welcome you back on your next visit to Seattle.

Best Regards,

Aaron Olson

I have stayed at this hotel a few times, and would consider going back. Its a very well priced slightly off downtown option for those visiting the area and want to stay close but save a few dollars. Its a busy hotel, catering towards large groups, tours, and you'll get full common areas and elevators as a result.

The area isnt anything too special, its near the REI (a good place to spend money on outdoors stuff), there is a great gym across the street you can use for free (24 hour fitness).

The hotel offers breakfast which can be jam packed with people and kids, but it has better than average selections (hot and cold plates).

The lobby is very recently updated, well done. The rooms are beginning to show their age and the lighting is a bit low. The bed was fine, I felt the sheets were a bit on the cheap side. Everything was clean and as I expected.

If your expecting a full service hotel in downtown, this hotel is a compromise. The area is a bit off to the side and can be noisy due to the proximity to I5 and the ramps to it. You'll also have about a ten minute walk (often wet being that its Seattle) to the heart of the city and the underground tunnel to the airport light rail.

Room Tip: ask to not face I5 or the bridge over it on Denny Way

Dear flipper95,

Thank you for the feedback. We are glad that you had a positive experience in our hotel and wanted to let you know that our hotel is currently undergoing room renovations. We are closing entire floors so as not to disturb any of our guests during these improvements. As you mentioned, our lobby recently underwent a $1.5 Million dollar renovation featuring our lively lobby bar, Bistro on Yale. Last month we began updating our rooms, which will include new carpet, paint, window coverings, bedding and vanity lighting. Our rooms are in excellent condition, but we certainly understand that after seeing our newly renovated lobby, one might expect the room decor to match. We are very excited about the improvements to our suites as well as the many enhancements we are making throughout the hotel that are all aimed at exceeding our guests expectations.

Also to note for future visits, our hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to Westlake Center in the heart of the shopping district (adjacent to the light rail line to the airport) as well as to the Space Needle and the Convention Center. While our hotel certainly welcomes large groups, it sounds like you may have been here during an especially busy time.

Thanks again for taking the time to review our hotel, and we hope to see you on a return trip to Seattle to show off all of the upgrades that are underway.

Best Regards,

Aaron Olson
