If you want to see Seattle from the middle of Downtown (1st and Madison area), this was an awesome place to stay. A few minutes walk from Pike Market, unbelievable diversity of food offerings within minutes walk, close to bus and light rail transport to SEA-TAC ($2.50 one-way from SEA to 3 min walk to hotel), and top it off with an Alexis-hosted happy hour with area wines (during my visit). I'll definitely be back. Forgot: this was the only hotel in the US in which I slept 2 floors above a busy street and heard nothing.

Room Tip: From what I heard from others, no rooms are bad rooms.

Thanks for the review! We offer the wine hour 7 days a week, so we will always have a glass of wine for you from 5-6pm in the lobby. Bill Kimpton started this tradition over 25 years ago as a fun way for managers to chat with guests in the lobby, or for guests to get to know one another. So not only do we have some great Washington wines, but we have a ton of fun getting to know one another!

We had a girl's weekend away in Seattle and stayed at the Alexis hotel. It is a wonderful, boutique hotel. The rooms are quite large and very well decorated. The location is perfect - just a few blocks from Pike's market and Pioneer Square. They offer a complimentary wine hour from 5pm to 6pm.

The hotel has very cute bar called the Bookstore - which I highly recommend. They are offer pretty good happy hour deals on drinks and food. The hotel restaurant - the Library - has good food but the service was somewhat poor when we were there. They seemed a bit understaffed and it took over an hour for our food to arrive.

The one issue we fond with the hotel (Likely due to the fact it is an older hotel) it can be somewhat noisy. Unfortunately, our next door neighbours had a party into the wee hours of the night which disturbed our sleep. We did complain to reception and they were quite responsive to our requests.

Overall, I recommend this hotel. It is a great location!

Few hotels stand the test of time and continue to provide such a great guest experience as this one does. The staff at the Alexis Hotel is what makes this hotel the best property in Seattle for travelers. You are greeted warmly by staff that wants to be there. YOu are treated to unique hotel rooms expertly maintained, and provided an incredible value. This is top tier hotel that attracts clients initially because of it's loctaion and Kimpton association and then welcomes them back as repeat guests, over and over...and it's because they are that good at providing a super hotel experience, both with it's physical presence and with its' staff.

Lovely boutique hotel.

Keith, the concierge, was outstanding. He very kindly organised champagne and strawberries to be sent to our room as we were on our honeymoon. He also booked a table at the Space Needle for us.

Visit Pike Place market for good food and atmosphere.

Highly recommend.
