We had just an overnight stay in the North tower that faced the back alley. The room opened out to a small patio that was shared with the room next door. Even though our room was one of the smaller ones in this tower it was already bigger than any typical standard sized modern hotel room. A full sized sofa, club chair, coffee table made up the sitting area. Other furniture and fixtures tastefully decorated the room. The georgeous part for us were the approximately 15 foot ceilings and 12 foot windows - old style elegance. However, the art work dotted around the room (table lamps, standing vases, wall pictures, etc.) were modern style and balanced the old style elegance nicely.

Staff are very friendly - from the valet, room attendants, reception, and bar. We were made to feel at home from the moment we said hi. This hotel is a short walk to many of Seattle's attractions, e.g. Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Symphony's Benaroya Hall, Pike Street Market, Pioneer Square, Pacific Centre. We'll be back to stay the next chance we get.

Room Tip: The North tower where we stayed had a balanced (meaning not exaggerated) old style elegance. I beli...

It was my first stay at the Alexis, but it won't be my last! My room was spacious; in fact my college student niece said it was larger than some apartments in Seattle. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Comfortable, convenient, spotless and tidy! Lots of light with huge windows, heavenly bed and seating. Excellent food in the adjoining Library Bistro. Try their Dutch Baby for breakfast! I just liked the vibe of the place. Like I was home but better! :)

Room Tip: Room 244 facing First is a winner!

Although I've only been here for business, I actually fantasize about my next return to the Alexis. I love the modern, yet comfortable decor. The rooms are soothing and if you are lucky, you will get a suite with a working fireplace! There is a complimentary wine hour, where once I enjoyed dabbling in a little watercolor provided by the hotel while mingling with guests and enyoing some free wine. I love the happy hour prices at the bar, which has great affordable fare, and the breakfast at the Library downstairs is great. The Alexis is also in a great location - walking distance to many popular Seattle attractions. And I love to pop into Watson Kennedy (a gift shop) across the street on the corner. There are lots of restaurants in walking distance too. Kimpton hotels have it down pat and this one is my favorite Kimpton thus far. Gorgeous hotel, will come back many more times!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a fireplace!
