Once more, after a few year's lapse, we stayed at Inn at the Market. Once more we enjoyed it very much. It's a great boutique hotel alternative in Seattle. Right by the Pike St. Market, it offers an oasis from the shopping crowds, the traffic, and the chaos of downtown and the Market area. It has an inviting small lobby with Pac NW art (a huge Guy Anderson painting is the centerpiece), small but well-appointed rooms, large digital tvs in a cabinet, decent sized bathrooms. We were on the 8th (highest) floor but it was still somewhat noisy at night from traffic and sirens, possibly because we were on the cheaper city side and not on the more expensive water-view side. Not the hotel's fault as it is in a busy urban area after all, but if you are a very light sleeper you should probably look for accommodations away from the center of the city or in a much higher building. One thing that was hotel's fault: the heater/ac unit in the room had a fairly noisy fan that should be fixed. As always, what often makes or breaks a hotel is its service: the service here is excellent and efficient from the bellhops who greet you outside, through check-in desk, to the chambermaids. Breakfast room service is provided by a very good small restaurant next door, Bacco, and the hotel is right across from an excellent wine bar with good food called "Marche." Lots of eating alternatives nearby, including a nouveau Korean restaurant right next to the lobby that gets good reviews called "Chan." and others around the market too. Other than the noise in the area and the heater, no complaints at all. An excellent Seattle stay alternative for those who don't want a B&B or an impersonal high-rise chain hotel. The price and value for the cost, especially at a slow time of year like post-Xmas, is also very good.

Room Tip: Might want to book a more expensive room on the water (market) side for quieter sleep and on highest floor if possible

Our group of 6 stayed for 2 nights in late December 2012 for the King Tut exhibit and to recharge after the Christmas rush. We were very pleased with the rooms and staff. A family member flew in from the east coast and arrived hours before the rest of us and special accomodations were allowed for her without any problems. Staff was exceptionally helpful and courteous. The beds were a delight even for those in our party with back problems or difficulty sleeping. The location is perfect! Our only issue was a dirty blanket that was folded in the closet that was promptly replaced when we called the front desk. We plan on returning to Seattle and would absolutely stay again. A staff member went above and beyond when he saw us helping a family member in with a sore knee. He brought an ice bag to the room and then also filled the ice bucket should we need more.

Room Tip: Our junior suite had a second floor bedroom which is difficult should you have an elderly person traveling with you who may sleep on the sofabed which is downstairs. The bathroom is also on the second floor.

From check-in through the stay at the hotel, I found the customer service excellent. It is a beautiful setting, the rooms are appointed very lovely and very clean, and the whole hotel just is very much a place that you want to walk around in and see all of the art work. The person at the Desk was more than accommodating and this kind of service continued with everyone who worked at the hotel. It obviously is in a great place to walk around, whether sight seeing, shopping, or eating at a variety of restaurants.

Room Tip: Ask the Desk.

The location cannot be beat - it's directly across the street from pike place market. It's a lovely hotel with wonderful service and great restaurants and shops within its courtyard -- try Marche's brunch -- Delicious!
Sur La Table is literally around the corner.
We were the last guests to check last week -- late flight from the east coast. Upon arrival, the front desk staff already had all of our paper work laid out in an effort to check us in as quickly as possible.
My only criticism is the lobby is small and the can get a little tight with people storing their bags before heading out to brunch, lunch, shopping or sight seeing. I will say that the bottle neck was immediately recognized by the front desk staff who jumped to help everyone with their bags.

This is a wonderful hotel in a perfect location. Rooms were great, huge bath.
There is not a gym (you can go down the street for 15 bucks) , this was a bit of a bummer but otherwise it was wonderful?
The tv was a bit difficult to navigate.
