A warm welcome and attentive staff helped to make this stay really enjoyable. The view over the port, and wider reaching along the bay, were brilliant. There was a wide choice for breakfast and the breakfast room offered the same excellent views. A great way to enjoy breakfast!!

Room Tip: We had the room at the top overlooking the port. great.

What a lovely chance find this hotel was. Evening was closing in and we had started to look for a place to stay the night and we came across the Hotel du Port Rhu. The room was clean and well decorated as was the bathroom. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced, in fact everything was very nice. The people running the hotel are all very helpful and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed early November had downstairs room 14 which was fabulous. Fully equipped, tea & coffee, hairdryer, electronic window blinds, walk in wet room Ooh la la ! Breakfast at around 8 Euros pp in a delightful room overlooking the port was comprehensive, including a helpful demonstration by management on how to "soft boil" successfully, an egg in the microwave. It truly works! Location coming into Douarnenez from Roscoff (Follow D7 do not go around Quimper) was quite
straightforward; loads of free car parking opposite side of road. You can walk to Port Plaisance (turn right) in about 10-15 mins and you can also (Turn left) walk down the steps adjacent to Hotel, along the river, across the pedestrian bridge and be in centre of town in about 20 mins. Hotel run by Pascal & partner, both helpful and multi lingual. It poured with rain the night we stayed so we ate at an unusual creperie next door (See separate review of Matrisnan'he' Creperie) which did Steak entrecotes + sauces+chips. Also a few more metres away is a lovely bar behind "Cave" which has great selection of drinks , beer , wine and spirits with a lit log fire. (You can also take away a bottle of wine which the helpful owner will open for you at a reasonable price before 2200) So all in all, highly recommended the hotel, location , food , room and staffs. We will be back!!

Room Tip: Ask for Room 14 on ground floor- Walk in shower wet room , Electric Window blinds!!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent English spoken if needed.

Good sized room with some thought given to the decor, giving a lighter airier feel.

Good sized, comfortable bed, but with the usual one thick duvet. Good shower.

Coffee in room and even a steamer to heat up pre-prepared meals.

Large free public car park just over the road.

The location is a bit out of town. It offers good views over the river and town, but it's a 15 minute walk involving going up and down hills if you want to get to town. But if you don't mind that it's a pleasant, scenic walk.

Only one restaurant close to the hotel and those in town didn't look all that special. The best place to eat appeared to be the port area. This is over the other side of town and involves climbing up a hill and down the other side. But well worth it.

Managed to get wifi in the room but it was poor, and I'm not sure if it was the hotel's own.

Room Tip: The back of the hotel offers views to the town / river.
