Very happy with the accommodation and cannot fault the service. Extremely friendly, courteous staff who were always willing to help. Breakfast was great, coffee was even better. We had a large condominium with kitchenette, balcony with beach views overlooking a park. Would definitely stay again during our next visit to Kailua-Kona. More

We were so happy to get to our hotel after our flight. Service at the front desk was little slow. Our room was very warm due to air condition issues. Location was awesome though! Great shopping nearby. Great restaurants and always a beautiful sunset.
The first time we stayed at Uncle Billy's Kona Bay Hotel was in March 2018. Our room was on the 3rd floor and had tiny ants all over the sink & counter. Tub was cracked, floor was sticky & carpet was wet by refrigerator. Staff was notified & we let it go.
My second time there was last weekend Sept. 22-24, 2018. Our first room #1022 was old, our double beds was without cushion, towels were missing, and the phone was in operable. Told front desk & got another room, #3018. As soon as we turn on the cold air, water was spitting out from the ceiling & all over the floor. My daughter opens up the drawers & finds dead cockroaches in there. Immediately, I go back down to front desk & was given another room. This time #4016. The drawers are opened up again & we find two running cockroaches in them, they disappear & find them running on the carpet. We killed them. I then wanted to cry because we were just too exhausted from our travels to keep changing rooms. Also, the carpet was again wet from the refrigerator, the toilet leaked water, and we could never get the TV to turn on to watch a show despite following exact directions from the laminated card. Sadly, I will never book this hotel again because there's just too many little things that went wrong & continue to be wrong & unsafe with every single room. When roaches are alive, dead & just plain visible in multiple rooms, its a health issue. No one paying to stay in any hotel should ever find roaches in their room but If you like sleeping with roaches then this place is for you.
very central, very dirty, Tv didnt work, shower drain clogged, toilet didnt flush. Called Front desk, shower drain was fixed, still no working TV or properly flushing toilet. Managment didnt seem to care much either when told, even showed them the pics. Oh yeah, thats a plunger next to the TV, not fresh out of the wrapper either. Room had a kitchenette, dishes had hair and old food stuck to the plate. I cleaned all the dishes. Safety issue as well, Pool is marked 5ft deep, sign next to pool says 8ft deep....not very safe.
Location is excellent, right in the middle of town and we were able to walk everywhere. We were in a kitchenette room across from the main hotel, which made it more quiet and secluded, though it’s location is in a shopping area.
Room was not cleaned well, with the wall across from the with stains and long hairs on it, which was pretty gross.
The pool needs resurfacing, but we had it all to ourselves, so that was a plus. Palm trees and greenery was amazing.
Breakfast was just meh. The lady serving food each morning had a terrible attitude, huffing and puffing like the guests were a pain in her side. My husband even complained about her after 2 days in a row listening to her. Not a great way to start your day in paradise! She was nicer the next day, but each day was mostly the same.
Breakfast consisted of coffee, reconstituted juice, oatmeal, fresh papaya, toast, & mini muffins. Same thing every day.
We enjoyed the convenience of the location, but the hotel needs better cleaning and maintenance/ repairs for sure! Definitely needs to be upgraded.
We stayed here one night after getting in late.
The property is located in downtown Kona, so it is convenient to walk around town.
The room is very average. The bed was hard. The room was musty and it looked like mold was on the ceiling and walls. Not a place I'd want to stay for very long!
They had a continental breakfast outside by the pool. The food was very average- toast, cereal.
Overall- a low cost spot to lay your head in Kona. If you plan on spending most of your time out of the room, I suppose it would be okay. Other than that, I would look elsewhere.
