We use to drive far south of Kona to have dinner at Mi’s. They are now in the center of Alii Drive (underground parking, too). We enjoy their pastas, chicken dishes and fish. Ask for an outdoor table. This is a family owned and run restaurant. Children are welcome. Great for lunch or dinner.

Lovely spot for a lunch with a view. Shrimp fettucine was my highlight, my husbands lasagne was decent. Absolutely wonderful staff who were open with local knowledge. Ask for Art

It's a bit pricier than some of the other places on the main drag but I chose it for a birthday dinner based on recent reviews and because of the mouthwatering description of the cioppino and bananas flambe. Who wouldn't want a banana-rich flaming birthday dessert? We were pretty worried at first. Unless you are on the outer edge of the place, your view is of a big hotel in the distance. The mixed drink didn't have any discernable alcohol. And the corn chowder was a tomato-based cream soup with some bits of corn. But the pasta my wife ordered was creamy and delicious, yet firm. In the darkness, I don't know much of what was in the cioppino but it was hearty and good with the three crusts of bread (a refill of a bread order is $5). The bananas rum flambe arrived without flame. The waiter explained that due to liquor laws, you can't serve dishes in Hawaii with flame. That may be, but I am pretty sure the law does not mandate that you provide misleading names for your dishes. Anyways, the rich caramel syrup did contain a chunk of bread and some ice cream. And it probably has more rum than the drink, so I call it a keeper even at $12. They put a 3 percent surcharge on the meal and their minimum suggested tip is 16 percent, so stay awake as you read the bill.

I really enjoy this restaurant! Great sunset views. I love bringing a bottle of wine and having either the Fresh Spaghetti alla Bolognese with local beef and a rich chianti tomato sauce / $16 or the Grilled Fresh Catch with risotto du jour and a chopped tomato vinaigrette / $33.
