“Very Enjoyable Easter”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2012

We stayed at this Chalet for the Easter week, snow conditions were not brilliant but the atmosphere at the Chalet Rosanna compensated for this. The staff are very helpful, kind and always prepared to assist the customers with their varied requests. The food is plentiful, particuarly the breakfasts. The noise levels can be dissipated by asking for a room on the opposite side to Scotty's bar and keeping the windows closed! It appears the noise emanates from people seeking late night taxis from the taxi stand that is outside Scotty's Bar. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms spacious with plenty of hot water! It is unfortunate that Mark Warner are using Strategic Airlines as it was not a comfortable flight either on the way out or the return journey.

Room Tip: South side and on level 2 or 3.

I have been to the Rosanna three times now and it is an excellent Mark Warner property. The rooms are very good. I have learnt that you need to make sure 2nd or 3rd floor as far away from Scotty's Bar as possible. I was in 326 and it was fine - the wifi has been improved although you have to pay 15euros for each appliance ie laptop and i phone.

There has always been a great crowd in this hotel and I have always travelled alone and met great people. This time I had to fly home a day early and although the manager did not have to he arranged a transfer with Inghams on the Saturday. When Inghams messed up and I missed the bus Adam Summerfield DROVE ME to Innsbruck in his own car on his day off!!!! This was way beyond the call of duty but he told me he had promised I would get to the airport on time and he was going to make sure I did. If I was a stunning 25year old there may have been a motive but I am 57 !! I have to say Adam is one of the best Hotel managers I have come across. A credit to Mark Warner - I would always recommend this hotel especially if Adam is managing it

We had a great week in March. This is a very well run chalet and we would go again. It's big enough to avoid mixing with people who need a hair dryer on a skiing holiday. The food is first class. Book early, bring ear plugs or sleep outside Scotty's opening hours. The Wi Fi was OK. Strategic Airlines may not have the most modern aircraft, but our flight arrived early on both legs and Friedrickshaven is a gem of a regional airport. The rooms and public areas are well up to Tyrolean rustic standard. However, the ski/boot room resembles a 4th XV changing room.

This is a Mark Warner chalethotel and generally was very comfortable. It is in a great location in the centre of town, and the food and service were very good. Unfortunately we had a room above the entrance to Scotty's Bar (part of the hotel). It was very noisy most nights, and one night (when there was a guest dj), it felt like we were over a disco! That's fine if you're likely to be in the bar, but not so great if you're not. More should be done to sound proof these rooms. Also, the rooms had been refurbished to a fairly high standard, but there was no hairdryer in the bathroom (no what I'd expect in a "modern" ensuite bathroom).

Apart from the above grips, we had a good time.

Room Tip: Avoid the very noisy bar.

A group of us stayed at the Rosanna in late February and the skiing and snow were fantastic. We have stayed at three different Mark Warner chalets now (Tartentaise & Le Val d'Isere) and this is the best so far. Its in a great location in the centre of St Anton and near the Galzig cable (less than a 10min walk). The rooms have been renovated within the past couple of years and although basic are clean / tidy - there isn't a safe in the room but reception will put valuables in the hotel safe. The food was good. There was plenty of choice for breakfast (cereals, juices, pastries, cooked, toast etc), the team serve tea / coffee & cakes from 4.30 in the afternoons and then there is a hearty evening meal with a choice of 3 options (incl veggie). There is a choice of red / white or rose wine with your evening meal which is included in the price of your holiday and they will continue to provide fresh bottles until dessert has been served and after that you would have to pay. It's ok but there is also a wine list if you would prefer something slightly better and are willing to pay for it. The chalet is actually joined to Scotty s bar (there is an interconnecting door). There have been various comments in other reviews about the noise but we never suffered (although we weren't in bed before 12.30 that often !) and they are very strict on closing at 12.30. We did eat out a couple of times and can definitely recommend the Underground - the atmosphere (they have live bands every night) as well as the food was fantastic. During the day we also ate in several restaurants across the mountain and all of them were good - Hospiz Alm in St Christoph was very very good. Most reviewers have complained about the poor Wi-Fi and it is rubbish - they no longer charge for it (and quite right !) and its hit and miss if you get on, I did more times than not but the connection would regularly drop. As with other MW chalets, the team do offer ski hosting but it's only for 2 days as St Anton don't actually allow them to do any as they want everyone to have lessons - this is a real shame as the hosting was very good.

We flw from Gatwick to Friedrichshafen in Germany. Although a tiny airport (so there's very little there) you get through very quickly and as everyone arrives on the same flight there was no waiting around which was great - the transfer takes c90mins.

Finally, the MW team are excellent. They are friendly helpful and work extremely hard to make sure you are well looked after - many of them provide much better service and attitude than a number of 5 star hotels I have stayed in so well done them.
