Stayed here on a short break with friends. Lovely tranquil spot out of the hubbub of Mayrhofen. Lovely food, fantastic spa and a well run family owned hotel. Our only slight disappointment was that we had one of the standard rooms in the original hotel. There are some newer rooms in a more recently developed part of the hotel which are definitely worth asking for but do cost a little more.

Wow. We stayed here for five nights during a hiking trip, and booked a room with half-board. Our stay was truly unforgettable. The hotel is nestled into a tiny valley, and the attractive buildings were covered with overflowing flower boxes. Our room had a beautiful view of the distant mountains, and a small seating balcony that included a hanging wicker chair. Meals were fantastic and the staff could not have been friendlier. We used the spa every day, and it is beautiful and extensive. The steam room is great, and there are two saunas - we especially liked the sauna with herbal infusion. Massive areas for lounging, both indoors and out of doors. A glacial wading pool is a bracing and refreshing experience. The swimming pool includes several areas with jets that massage your neck and shoulders (waterfall), back, and legs - very helpful after a long hike! The same family has owned this property for 100 years, and the matriarch is in the dining room every evening, helping bus the tables and chatting with all the guests. By the second day we felt at home, and we were sad when we finally had to bit the place goodbye. I'm not sure what they would need to do to officially earn another star - as far as I'm concerned, this hotel provides five star quality. We came away with a small parting gift - a pot of home-made jam, made by Frau Pfister. A perfect finishing touch. Thank you to the great staff of this hotel for making our stay so wonderful!!

Room Tip: As for a room with a mountain view!

We visited during August. Two families comprising four adults and five children. The hotel accommodation, food and service were supreme. In spite of the fact that there were not many children staying at the hotel, they were made to feel extremely welcome by staff and guests alike. We loved it and hope to return in the future. Highly recommended.

We stayed in February 2016 for our family ski holiday. It is a luxurious hotel, with wonderful pool and separate wellness area. We stayed in a Junior Suite and had half board which included cakes in the afternoon. Our suite consisted of 2 bedrooms and a lounge and an entrance hall. It was much bigger than expected. There plenty of room to put coats, and shoes etc in entrance hall. The lounge/diner had a small kitchenette, which we didn't really need, but had coffee machine, dishwasher, kettle and was fully stocked with plates, cups and cutlery. The food at breakfast and dinner was excellent. The staff who are all members of the same family were very friendly and helpful. There is a shuttle bus to take to the ski area, but we didn't use it, as the local bus stopped outside the hotel first thing in the morning and afternoon - although not in the evening and middle of the day. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in the Alpin Lodge Das Zillergrund for our first ever ski holiday, myself, my wife and our 6 year old daughter. The hotel made the holiday truly special. The contact from the hotel before we had even arrived had already developed a positive feel. The greeting we received on arrival was lovely, and from that point onwards they could not have been more accommodating and helpful.

The room was better than we could have hoped for and not even one of the new suites which are amazing. The food was outstanding, with a huge variety at breakfast and 5 courses every evening. They were also excellent at accommodating my wife's allergies, with all meals made gluten free.

There were few English guests, which was a positive for us, but all menus and daily bulletins were translated into English for us.

The spa facilities were amazing, much better than spa facilities I have experienced in this country in 5 star establishments. They were exactly what was required after a day of skiing, to sooth the aching muscles.

All the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They were all great with our daughter and seemed to enjoy listening to her stories of skiing that they must have heard a thousand times. This is a family run hotel, with numerous members of the family working in different capacities, this all contributed to the fantastic atmosphere during our stay.

A few reviews have mentioned the distance from the centre of Mayrhofen, however this was a positive for us. The transfers, either by hotel shuttle bus or local bus service were easy and well timed. Being away from the party side of Mayrhofen, especially when the Brits turned up for Snowbombing was a blessing.

We definitely intend to visit again next year, but earlier in the season to hopefully benefit from better snow conditions.
