We stayed here to see the Almbtried (the cows returning from the summer pastures). The location is great...on the edge of town close enough to walk into town for dinner, drinks, shopping, etc. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and the breakfast delicious.

Hotel Garni Glueck Auf is a very friendly hotel situated in a nice and quiet part of Mayrhofen. The rooms are very clean and spacious, the staff are extremely helpful and the selection of food at breakfast is good. There are also some fine restaurants nearby offering traditional Tyrolean food and the wonderful Zillertal wheat beer.

We loved this hotel. It is on the edge of Mayrhofen and so quiet - yet within a very easy stroll of the restaurants, cable cars, etc. Our balcony looked up the valley towards the mountains. (One of the peaks even had snow on the side.)
This hotel is comfortable and spotless - and very welcoming. The breakfast is excellent - with a good choice of local bread each morning and the famous Zillertal yogurt.
The owner could not have been more friendly and helpful - we will certainly return.

Me and my husband have recently returned for a 2 week stay at this hotel. It is the 4th time we have stayed here for both summer and winter holidays. Our room had a separate bedroom, dining area, shower/toilet/basin and a balcony. This is a family run hotel which does not have air conditioning or a lift (although plans are in progress for a lift) the property has a large veranda that anyone can use and it has a variety of loungers and chairs. Monika (the lady of the house) has a great sense of humour and she will help you with any queries you have regarding your stay (places of interest, train/bus times etc) We had no problem with breakfast as there is a wide variety of items, fruit juice, rolls, bread, hams, cheese, jams, honey, cereals, tea, coffee etc. Yes items do run out (maybe as we witnessed a few people making a cheese or ham roll for their lunch/snack did not help, which is not part of the deal or having 2-3 glasses of juice etc) but a polite request for more items is all it took for items to be replenished. The property is exceptionally clean and well maintained. It is a little walk from the main town in a quiet area which after a day out hiking or exploring is a welcome change. If you want to drink there are numerous bars and hotels near which sell a variety of drinks, teas, coffees, ices etc. The hotel itself offers beer, wine, tea, coffee and toasted sandwches as a small room service menu which considering the average beer price in the town was 2 euro 80 cent to 4 euros and the hotel was charging 2 euro 80 cents we didn't think this was bad for the convenience. Rooms and apartments on the side facing "The Green Mountain" (sorry Monika I can't remember the German name) do not have fridges but the rooms on the other side do (but no balcony that's where the veranda comes in useful) Your entry card gives access to the hotel and the room and also you put the card in a slot in the room to run the electricity although the television runs without the need to have the card inserted in the slot (although we do not visit Austria to sit in the room watching television, UK tv is bad enough) just don't go out of the hotel without it. No tea or coffee making facilities are available in the room (we take our own travel kettle and cups for an early morning cuppa) but you will find that in small family run hotels in Austria this is not an option. We would recommend this hotel to anyone, we are treated by Monika and her family as friends and treat them in the same friendly way.

We were very disappointed with this hotel during our stay. Firstly the room was small with inadequate sound insulation from the room next door. There are no tea making facilities but apparently this is normal for Austria.
Secondly, its not brilliant on facilities such as a bar or sitting areas. Admittedly there is a room service facility which is extremely expensive.
Breakfast was not particularly generous and whilst we were there when there were only six couples parts of the breakfast ran out if you were the last ones down and was not replenished.
During breakfast a request for a second pot of coffee was met with a pot noticeably weaker than the first. Furthermore, if you asked for a boiled egg you are charged one euro ten! Bed and Breakfast should not have an extra charge for something that is considered part of the breakfast, the orange juice supplied tasted like some sort of squash!
The hoteliers attitude was inflexible when we asked if breakfast could be served a little earlier because we were were going out on an excursion she refused to serve it early, she did give us a courtesy call at seven thirty but this still left us rushed to get us to our pick up point at 8.00am.
Reception Opening Hours. These are supposed to be 16.00 to 20.00 but on two occasions my husband returning from a walk and returning without the electronic entry card could not get into the hotel at approx 7.00 pm on both these occasions he had been ringing the doorbell for at least ten minutes before having to resort to going around the back and throwing pebble at our room window to attract my attention. Either Reception was not staffed or they were ignoring the door bell!
Upon departure date rooms are supposed to be vacated by 9.00 am we were given an extension until 10.00am but no other facilities were offered for freshening up considering the fact that we were not to be picked up until 3.10 in the afternoon, we had to kill time by lingering around in the shade as it was extremely hot in Mayerhofen and was most uncomfortable just to seek out shade and pass the time, our only options were bars but who wants to sit around in bars for 5 hours?
Contrary to previous reviews the young lady working there when we went (end June/start July 2015) was polite and very helpful.
Not a friendly hotel I do not think that it was very good value for the money we paid.

Stayed: June 2015
