This is a definite stay again. We stayed in Cabin #9 which is fairly new. Very clean and very reasonably priced. Close to town and across the street from a little park. Owner/Manager was very nice and extremely helpful. She even let us know about hot air balloon races the next am. Yes we did go.

I absolutely loved the accommodations but my husband wasn't thrilled. BUT in his defense, he's 6' 3" and the bathroom was not designed for him. A very small shower and a very low toilet which were not made for him. So again, I would stay there if it was just myself with friends under 6 foot.

The cabin had a lovely porch swing that we made use of. Slept with the windows open since it was so nice outside. Beds were comfortable and we even had a small fridge.

Ann was wonderful to deal with and made us feel welcome. Offered suggestions for things to do in the area. Thumbs up.

Room Tip: Book early

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in early June. Cabin #7 was everything we could have asked for. The "kitchenette" was small and took a bit to get used to. It served us very well, especially when I realized that I could have "bigger" at a much "bigger" price.
We liked it so much we reserved another week for this fall before we left.
Ann and John run a great place. Friendly, clean and cost effective. Sorry Americinn and Best Western. You're awards and/or points just don't matter anymore when we go to the Black Hills!

This "motel" is really a collection of adorable cottages tucked into the hill on the south side of Custer. Our family of four stayed in the "Bunkhouse" and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The family that runs the place is so friendly and helpful. I felt like Ann, the owner, was a long lost friend. She made a point to stop by and check in with us every day just to see how things were going. She also had wonderful advice about where to go and what to do in the area. Yes, the water heater is small, but we managed by taking VERY short showers. All in all, we loved the place and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
