“My First Trip To NOLA”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2012

It was our first trip to New Orleans. My husband and I planned a short weekend getaway.
We arrived in NOLA on Friday eve and left on Monday morning. We stay'd at the Hotel Mazarin.
Wow...we didn't even know it included a free full breakfast every morning. The hotel staff was very very helpful, very knowledgeable and the hotel itself was extremely clean and comfy.
They recently renovated and our room was very nice. The only complaint and its a very small one, was the hot water takes a long time to heat up. The Hotel Mazarin is located right smack dab in the middle of the French quarter ....so we didn't have to rent a car. We were able to walk or the hotel got us a cab for every place we wanted to go. All in all we had a great time and we definitely would go back.

We are so happy that you chose the Hotel Mazarin for your first trip to New Orleans. Being in the heart of the French Quarter it's easy to access all of the sites and sounds of New Orleans. Our housekeeping department prides themselves in keeping the hotel pristine. We hope when returning to New Orleans we will always be your hotel of choice. Thanks again for kind positive comments.

We stayed at Hotel Mazarin in April 2012. The location is great--steps to Bourbon but you don't hear the music and crowds all night long. We had a superior king (no balcony). The room had been redone since our last stay (was St. Louis hotel then, new ownership now). We had a huge walk in shower and a large dressing area with two nice pedestal sinks. The bed was great--slept very well. There wasn't a mini fridge. You can hear noise from the courtyard (but you hear the courtyard noise at any hotel with a courtyard), so if you are a light sleeper that may bother you (we didn't mind). The breakfast is good (bacon, eggs, grits, fruit, cereal, pastries, etc). Not sure why, but there isn't water available at breakfast, only juice. Overall, it is a good hotel in a convenient location for your New Orleans stay. Valet is pricey, but it's that way at every New Orleans hotel.

We spent our 40th anniversary at The Mazarin and can't say enough about the very clean and beautiful accommodations ( which were excellent) nor the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, who NEVER failed us on any request or question. The breakfast is an excellent one to enjoy in the beautiful courtyard. It's central French Quarter location is PERFECT! Walk out the front and you're a very, very, very short stroll from the finest restaurants! Arnaud's, Broussard's, Galitoire's, Brennan's and just feet from the shops on Royal Street Quiet and relaxing even with it's proximity to Bourbon St. at nite. The very comfortable king bed, soft sheets and plush pillows put you to sleep immediately. We've stayed at other great hotels in the French Quarter, but this one is truly SPECIAL. If you prefer a world-class intimate, smaller hotel, this is it.

Room Tip: The best rooms seem to be on the third floor up. But check WELL AHEAD for events taking place in New...

Fire alarms constantly going off, staff is very rude and the complimentary breakfast is no different than the cheap hotels. Would not advise this hotel to anyone. There are a lot nicer hotels in the area.

Thank you taking the time to leave comments on your stay. Unfortunately we had a malfunction with our alarm system, which has since been corrected. We hope you will give us another visit in the future, please contact me directly when returning.

If you're traveling on business, beware. My room opened directly onto the courtyard, which is open to the street in one corner. So a there is a lot of noise. You hear people talking while they're walking to their rooms, and you can hear noise from outside on the street when it gets loud (which it often does). I don't know if they have any rooms that aren't on the courtyard, but if you are in N.O. to party, it's probably a great place to stay. The staff was great, the bed/amenities are great. It's just not for every traveler.

Room Tip: Avoid the courtyard if you want a good night's sleep.
