Stayed here 2 nights on a Jazzfest excursion, had a great time. We were quoted $289 a night over the phone, our friend (a rewards member) got us rooms for $133, with free wifi! Valet was reasonable for downtown. The beds are really comfortable, the bathroom and shower were fine (lukewarm one day), the view was great! The hotel was quiet enough despite the busy weekend, and the Starbucks in the lobby was clutch. I can't imagine staying any closer to Bourbon street as nice for as cheap.

    Room Tip: high floor

We stayed here after my husband's triathlon. The original plan was to stay somewhere else (Super 8) and then spoil ourselves with a hotel in the french Quarter. However, Priceline showed us some love and gave us a great deal somewhere else nearby. So it was kind of odd switching hotels after staying at another for 4 days. We also booked this with priceline and are thrilled with what we got.
We checked in and the clerk was friendly. She asked if we would like an upgrade for $XX more (couldn't remember how much). We are mainly budget travelers and we declined. My husband sort of jokingly said "For us this is an upgrade!" (which is true, we are used to Motel 6, Super 8's etc.) We also requested a room that was higher up with a view of the river.
We got to our room and boy were we surprised! We clerk had given us the upgrade anyways! Maybe the cranky patron next to us checking in who was complaining of this and that wrong with the room, and my husband and I, being all nice starry eyed about being in a swanky hotel made her upgrade us, lol.
The room was huge, and was on the 22nd floor. The window stretched almost from one side of the wall to the other and offered an amazing view of the river. we had a king bed, a chair and a small love seat that had a fold away bed in it. There were 2 huge closets, one in the room and the other in the bathroom area.
The bathroom and vanity area was a little small, but that was ok. The room and view more than made up for it. Especially at night!
The only downside is that you have to pay for WIFI.
the elevator system was interesting, but efficient.
It's a nice, easy walk to Bourbon Street. I highly recommend eating at Sammy's. We ate there 3 times and were never dissatisfied!
Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. If we could afford it, we would stay here again!

We spent a weekend in New Orleans and got a great deal on the room rate (PL). When we arrived, the lobby area was packed! There were a few conventions going on that day. We checked in and were told that our room was not ready. Luckily, a friend was smart enough to ask if we could upgrade. The clerk was very helpful, and we were able to upgrade and check-in immediately for an extra 25 bucks. I'm glad we did because we ran into a couple who had been waiting a few hours to check in (i think they arrived before check-in time too). The valet parking fee is high (for the South). But the location is great and you can basically walk to anywhere you want to go, thereby avoiding street-parking fees. So, perhaps it cancels itself out. The room itself looks a little outdated but it was spacious and decently clean. There were two strands of hair on the shower wall, but i didn't freak out about it. Besides that, everything else was great. I would stay here again for the PL rate. The regular rate is ridiculous.

Room Tip: We upgraded to a river view for an extra 20 or 25 bucks. I believe the room is larger than a regular room. It was cool to see the Ferries.

We are staying April 29 and 30. We came from destin, fl so its hard to go from a condo to old single room. The hotel is old looking but nice inside. When u stay u pay 33 bucks a night to park your car. Great location bc bourbon street is steps away.

Just returned from New Orleans JazzFest & stayed at Marriott. I was impressed: great location & all of the staff, from front desk to bellmen & porters really made us feel welcomed. We've stayed at many nice hotels around the world & our excellent experience here compelled me to write a review. Last year we went to South Beach, FL to see U2 & stayed at the W Hotel. Take price out of the equation (even though W was much more expensive) Marriott service & quality was FAR above the W. Room & especially bed was very comfortable. I have just one suggestion: turn the air down in common areas!! Several guests were talking about how COLD it was. We couldn't even sit in lobby area to read paper. Other than this, I HIGHLY recommend this hotel.
