Back in January, we planned a trip with some friends to New Orleans and booked rooms at the Royal Street Courtyard B&B, where we stayed once a couple of years ago. The previous owners were warm and gracious, and we were looking forward to returning. A couple of weeks ago, we received an email from the owners informing us that they were selling the property. We were disappointed, but we were hopeful that the new owners would be as charming as the previous ones.

A few days later, just 10 days before our trip, we received an email from the new owners telling us that they converted the property to Airbnb and that we would have to rebook our rooms on the Airbnb website at an increased (26%) nightly rate. Needless to stay, we are extremely disappointed at this turn of events. Hiking your guests’ rates on existing reservations, especially so close to their travel date, is very shady, and very bad business.

We will no longer be patronizing the Royal Street B&B. What a terrible shame this place has become what it is.

The owners, David and Phillip are so helpful, nice and accommodating. RSC is located in a very friendly neighborhood. Phillip and David know New Orleans extremely well and can direct you to the best places, no matter your length of stay. I love sitting on the front porch either reading a good book or visiting with other guests. Such a great place to stay when visiting NO. RSC is within walking distance to the French Market and French Quarter.

Stayed here when I was in town for the New Orleans Poetry Festival, which was at the Healing Center five or so blocks away. The rooms are fairly basic but very comfortable. There is a hot tub, a courtyard, and a couple of porches to chill out. Four blocks from Frenchmen Street, a little further to the French Quarter. Phillip is incredibly helpful - he gave me a city map on which he had marked all his favorite restaurants in the area. And there's a cat!

We just spent our 5th visit with Philip and David at the Royal Courtyard and have already booked for next year. They are super nice guys and this is a place you can relax and feel right at home (nothing fancy but clean. The neighborhood is quiet but within walking distance of Frenchman St. and the French Quarter. They have up and down front porches with rocking chairs for relaxing in the evening and a hot tub and garden with tables out back. You can easily park on the street. There are several small groceries and eating places within a couple of blocks.

This is an amazing B&B! The hosts Phillip and David are incredible. Upon arrival we received a warm, friendly welcome and were given a map that included local restaurants and things to see and do. Everyone of the recommendations was a home run! The rooms are large, cozy and comfortable with superb housekeeping! Nice breakfast area with yummy sweet cake and chicory flavored coffee. The location is wonderful. About a 15-20 minute walk to downtown. The neighborhood offers a real appreciation of the architecture and culture of the city. Grateful to all at the Royal Street Courtyard for making our stay truly memorable!
