The House of the Rising Sun provides a very pleasant respite from what could be considered the hustle and bustle of New Orleans. It’s location is very easy to find by car and we were able to virtually park at the front door which made for very quick and easy unloading since our arrival was in the pouring rain.
We were greeted by Kevin who immediately offered us hot tea or coffee, which was very nice, and by a lovable dog, Boudin, (pronounced Boo Dan!) who made a perfect companion during our stay.
The rooms are pleasantly decorated, comfortable and very quiet. The bathroom for the queen room is “en suite” and for the king room is just down the hall.
The ferry ride is an easy two block walk away which made it great for exploring the French Quarter during the day, coming “home” to freshen up and then go back in the evening if you want but there are plenty of places to eat and be entertained right in the neighborhood!
Next time we’d like to stay longer so we can take advantage of Kevin’s walking tour of Algiers Point and all the entire neighborhood has to offer!
Great place to stay...try it, you'll like it!
