The place to be if you want to hear live music in New Orleans right now. Far better than Bourbon Street. Many of the clubs are small and it gets very crowded very fast but definitely worth a trip

Frenchman on Halloween is a mad house. Its loads of fun, but if you are coming to get into a club, don't bother. The street was packed with tons of people with costumes. We had a great time walking up and down the atreet looking at all the various costumes.

We love visiting this area at night. look up when the art garden is going on as well. Definitely the best place to see live music.

Two Canadians out for a walk in New Orleans and ended up on Frenchmen Street at night. Loved the live music at the Café Negril and the Spotted Cat.

If you are looking for a more laid back Bourbon Street then head to Frenchman Street! It is loaded with bars and restaurants and is much safer/quieter than Bourbon St.

The costumes were definitely more eclectic than those I saw on Bourbon. I have been on Frenchmen before the recent Halloween and it is a foodie and gallery paradise. Enjoy.

The music venues on Frenchmen street are definiitely the place to be. Bourbon is loud and obnoxious where Frenchmen venues are fun and inviting. BMC is my new favorite hangout !

Everything is the same but less expensive than on Bourbon St. Lots of music, great shops, and great people!

We had such a fun time bar hopping on Frenchmen Street. Within a few blocks there are so many options for hearing a wide variety of musical genres. All the places we went did not have a cover charge, but they do ask you to buy one drink per set. The bands will also pass the hat, and we were happy to contribute based on the quality of the music we heard.

Took our two 21 year old boys to enjoy the music! Got every flavor of sound you can imagine. If you like a full band at every stop on your bar hop tour, this is the place for you.
