Description: The Old Coffee Pot, located on St. Peter Street located next to Pat O Brian's and right off Bourbon Street is a great location for tourists and locals alike. The restaurant founded and established in 1894, is well known for serving one of the best breakfasts in New Orleans, with famous dishes such as the Crab cake Jonathan and traditional dishes such as the callas cakes. We also serve great lunch, with a special that includes a half of po-boy, a cup of gumbo and a side of fries that has become a crowd favorite and is one of the best samplers in the neighborhood. Our evening menu features the "Triple D', a dish that was featured on Food Network's "Dinners, Drive-In's, and Dives". Alongside this dish are other reasonably priced dishes of Creole and Cajun cuisine to satisfy anyone's appetite. We also offer a variety of beverages and cocktails, traditional mixed drinks and wines to compliment any dish. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, an aesthetically pleasing courtyard and a unique and traditional dining room with an atmosphere filled with New Orleans tradition and Southern charm. The Old Coffee Pot also offers additional services such as private parties and catered banquets in the river room or courtyard, reservations, and extensive one on one cooking classes hosted by Taste bud Tours.

A stranger recommended this place for breakfast. Sure wish I knew how to thank him for such a great suggestion. We both enjoyed our Bienville omelet with crab, crawfish, and shrimp in it. Tasty home fries came with the omelet. Could have also chosen their hollandaise grits - bet they were good. Waitress was so friendly even though she was quite busy. Not a long wait for food and enjoyed watching the people go by on the sidewalk out front. This place has been there since 1894!

Restaurant was recommend to us by a couple on our food tour. The restaurant is tiny inside, but there is some outdoor seating. As the weather was cold, the staff accommodated us by making space for another table. The biscuits and gravy are delicious. Coffee is great. The rest of the menu looked great, but it's hard to resist homemade biscuits and gravy when you're in the South.

Don’t care for the new decor but food is still good! I had bragged about the place to a friend, so we met there. She still didn’t think much of it though. The plates were pretty sparse
I took pictures soon as plates arrived, and it was as if”is this it?”
Hardly any potatoes on plate. The cala cakes are such a treat!

This place was highly recommended to us by a frequent New Orleans traveler friend. He told of a waitress named Shirley who sings while she works. Unfortunately, Shirley was not there when we visited for breakfast Sunday AM. We wish she had been. it might have made the food better. The coffee with chicory was great. The food was over cooked. I must say it is easy to get spoiled by the food in Nawlins. It is just so good almost everywhere you go. Maybe that is why this stood out. It wasn't spectacular. Tough criticism but the bar is set high in the French Quarter.
