The Courtyard Cottage was very clean, cozy and quiet. The nearby attractions were the Garden District, French Quarters and walking distance to the WWII Museum. The trolley was two blocks away. I would stay here again in the future..
The place we rented was absolutely adorable, with personal greetings and introductions from the owners, Gustavo and Maltilde! The rental cottage proved completely perfect for a place to celebrate our second honeymoon, Fifty Year Wedding Anniversary! The kitchen was more than adequately stocked with cooking essentials and appliances. The location was marvelous, allowing us to utilize public transportation for sight-seeing and exploring! The neighborhood was sublime, close to shops, restaurants and exquisite architecture. The time we spent there shall forever remain one of our fondest memories; thank you Matilde and Gustavo!!
I recently completed a solo train trip through 4 cities, and had the privilege of staying at the courtyard cottage during my time in New Orleans. It was a perfect little hideaway to retire to after a long day of sight-seeing in the heat and humidity! Very cool, clean and comfortable, and its location behind the main house and surrounded by plants and sculpture help it to feel very private and secluded. It was a little over a mile's walk to the French Quarter, and just a few blocks from cute shops on Magazine St., restaurants on St. Charles, etc. The neighborhood feels quite safe overall, and Matilde and her partner were very gracious and welcoming hosts. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again. Loved the courtyard cats and all the beautiful artwork!
Lovely little cottage, clean, comfortable with everything you need, Matilde even put milk, butter and cake in the fridge for us.
The cottage is at the bottom of the owners lovely garden with places to sit outside. The owners were lovely, very helpful but mindful to not intrude.
We walked into the French quarter most days which took around 25mins but the bus stop was just outside and costs $1.25 for whatever distance you go.
We absolutely loved NOLA and the stay was made even better by staying in the cottage, would definitely recommend.
The apartment was comfortable, and the neighborhood didn't look like much, though it is improving, but actually has some nice places to eat nearby listed in the owners notebook in the kitchen.
