Free tours are almost always good, and New Orleans is no exception. We took two tours, both lead by Stacy. The Cocktail tour visits several restaurants and bars, and talks about some of the history of the city. Three of the visits give you a small sample of a famous cocktail from the city. You also get a chance to purchase some other cocktails at other famous bars.

The ghost tour, as given by Stacy, is all about some of the true stories of death, destruction, and murder in New Orleans. She really knows her history, and the Ghost Tour is a real blast.

We took a French Quarter walking tour and Ghost Tour on the same day with Steve S. He was a wealth of Louisiana and New Orleans history and shared some great facts and tales of the city. We would highly recommend free tours by foot!

Stacey was knowledgeable and personable. Right at the start she said the Ghost Tour would be historically informative. It was. We learned about the Yellow Fever epidemics that swept through New Orleans. We visited the “haunted” Andrew Jackson hotel and a few mansions that were scenes of bloody affairs.

We went with Elizabeth on a Walking Ghost Tour of the French Quarter and she was fantastic!! We had lots of stops with captivating stories. She was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She was able to answer any question we had easily. The stories and information she told were intense but never over the top jump scares. There was no doubting the pride she had for her beloved New Orleans. We were a few minutes late (our fault) and she bent over backwards to communicate with us and make sure we were able to find her group and catch up. We really enjoyed the entire experience and would recommend it and her to anyone!

Had never heard of Free Tours before, but after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor we decided this was worth a try. It turned out to be a great decision!!

Elizabeth was our tour guide for the French Quarter and she was excellent. We had a nice sized group - not too small or large. She handled all of us very well, answered questions, provided valuable historical information and kept the group moving. The tour was about two hours long and covered probably 1.5 miles or so all on flat surfaces. She tried to find opportunities for people to sit where possible since some were getting a bit tired of standing.

I highly recommend giving this a try and would use this organization in another city.
