We did a small work team event here this week. It was a lot of fun, definitely hands on, our instructor answered our questions. Once you learn how to cook Gumbo, you in, but you need to experience it first...the roux becomes chocolate brown with stirring. Factor in the price of a meal with wine and beer with lessons and the price is reasonable and so much fun. I would do this again, and my work team really enjoyed the experience. Don't be shy if you are all alone, take the class and make friends, we had a plus one and she had a ball with us.

We took the demonstration cooking class. The menu was red beans and rice, jambalaya, and bread pudding. It was incredibly delicious and informative! Plus much more affordable than other cooking classes in the area.

Our family enjoyed the creole cooking demonstration. Scott and Nita were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The cooking was easily viewed, and many cool tips were provided.
We enjoyed Seafood Gumbo, Chicken Fricasse, and Bananas Foster. Best gumbo we've had. Definitely check-out Crescent City Cooks.

Crescent City Cooks is a cooking school and wonderful kitchen store just around the corner from the hotel Monteleone. If they don't have it here, it may not exist.
