We decided we'd like to make some of the Creole and Cajun food. So we choice this place. We did the full emersion class, hands on, actually making the dishes. Rather than me butchering the names, visit their website. We were on a budget and initially thought this was a bit pricey, but went ahead and signed up. We had a fabulous time, learned so much about the differences between Cajun and Creole food. I had no idea how they made their rue's, but now I do, and I know I can recreate it. That afternoon was worth every penny.
What a great cooking class with a wonderful chef to teach us. Learned so much and the food was wonderful. Can't wait to try creole at home with my new rue spoon. Discounts in the store after the class.
My husband and I attending the cooking class this AM. We both loved the presentation and learned a great deal. The food was cooked to perfection and was so delicious. We highly recommend the Crescent City Cooks.
Highly recommend this. Both my husband and I went. Felt we got a very comprehensive overview and really know how to cook the dishes - which were delicious. File Seafood Gumbo, Shrimp Etouffe, and Bananas Foster
We had a wonderful time learning, watching & enjoying our afternoon with Scott our chef. His knowledge of New Orleans food history from it origin 1723 with all its influences of the French, African & Spanish was a journey through time as he whipped up 3 simple dishes we all could do at home. He emphasized specific details of pitfalls & emphasized healthy improvements. We highly recommend this, we think it not to be missed. We also highly recommend to bring a bottle of Pino! Bon Appetite!!!!!🍷🍵🍮
My husband and I were the only ones signed up for this class, and chose the menu. 2 mains and a dessert. For assorted reasons, we chose BBQ shrimp/Havarti grits, red beans and rice, and pecan pie. We are both cooks, so not much time was spent on techniques. All hands-on with lots of local story and history. Nita tailored the class to our needs and it was great. Beautiful shrimp, and I don't even eat them! We had a fabulous meal, complete with a bottle of wine and crusty french bread. We went home with 2 more individual pecan pies, shrimp and grits, red beans, the rest of the wine, new friends, and the knowledge that we would absolutely love to do this again!
