Great interiors, super clean, friendly staffs, good location. Highly recommend for any occasion. I’m here with my wife for her birthday and she loves this place.(she’s very picky) Also they treat us with complimentary breakfast.

At last minute, in less than 24 hours, we decided to road trip to N.O. for the Sugar Bowl/New Years Eve celebrations. Our decision was going to depend on whether or not we could find a hotel (not tickets). Despite hotels appearing to be available online, they were limited though, every time we called to reserve a room, we were told they were sold out and online was not updating quickly enough. Things were looking bleak. However, the Orbitz rep told us that she had a hotel that had some availability. The hotel was "The Jung Hotel". I was hesitant because I couldn't find any reviews anywhere about the hotel. But, it was walking distance of the Superdome (for the football game) and since we were traveling with our children we wanted to be near the French Quarter but not in all the craziness ringing in the new year. I liked what I saw on the website so we took our chances.
After our drive and upon entering the hotel, it is massive and impressive. The lobby has soaring ceilings it reminds me of a museum but not cold and sterile. There were girls dressed in vintage-looking "cigarette girl" costumes but they were only working the elevator not selling cigarettes. The hotel is a historical building with a long history which just completed a $150 million renovation and it shows. While in the elevator, my husband asked the man how long they'd been open and the man said since 7 am! That explains why there were no reviews! We were the first guests staying in the hotel ever! It was their Grand Opening. We were so tickled by this fact and just realizing how new and fresh everything was...but what was so refreshing was everyone from the staff, management, and the other guests were so friendly and accommodating.
Granted, there were a few little things like our phone didn't wok, but we didn't need it...and we just told the front desk. I have no doubt that these things will get fixed. The architecture, decor, food (we ate the buffet dinner one night--extremely good, especially for a buffet) and the location on Canal (accessible with a street car right outside your hotel) make this hotel one you should not pass by. I'll be honest, I enjoyed not being around all the "chaos" of the Quarter and it was so easy to get to it and so many other things to do around us. This hotel's location was a fantastic "base" for our family.
A special thanks to Claudette the concierge for her help and to management for making our dinner arrangements with our children so we could watch the game at the bar! Speaking of the bar, great bunch back there...2018 definitely got started off right for us thanks to our trip to N.O. and after staying at such a beautiful and friendly place. We are so glad we took the road trip and everything was booked so that we got recommended to Jung Hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to tell the world about your recent stay with. My staff and I were delighted to hear that you enjoyed our property and it was an honor for you to be out first guests. The staff works very hard everyday making sure that we exceed our guest expectations and I am glad you enjoyed our opening weekend special treats. Our location really is ideal for exactly the reason you posted - close enough but not in it.

It was our pleasure to make sure all of your needs were met and we would love to see you again in the near future.

What started out being a disastrous day turned into a beautiful experience. Booked through Expedia for a very expensive room at the Marriott in the French Quarter, after calling the hotel to confirm the reservations we showed up only to find out the hotel was overbooked and our reservation was canceled, after waiting on the phone for 2 hours Expedia finally re routed us to the Jung Hotel. The hotel is newly remodeled, very clean, fresh with pleasant accommodating helpful staff. Great Hotel, Great Staff, Great Customer Service, Great Experience. I am glad things didn't work out with the Marriott because I would not have had the opportunity to stay at such a fabulous unknown place like the Jung. I'd also add that it is far enough from the chaos of bourbon street but close enough to jump on a trolley and be right there. A lovely place. Very nice for the Mature traveler who still likes to experience all New Orleans has to offer.

Room Tip: This was Luxury based on the time of booking, normally I don't think it would have been this expensive.

The Jung was recommended to us by locals who know the city in and out and we were pretty much blown away by the service from the staff and the attention to detail in the actual design and layout of the rooms and the whole building. The TV's in the room were almost as big as the ones at the downstairs bar. Food was really good and did I mention the staff? We felt like we made friends for life there and will definitely be back!
