We drove up from Florida arriving on Tuesday and planning to stay until Sunday. The hotel is new and the room was clean. The room could use more drawers. In the closet is a small fridge and a three or four drawer chest, but in the top drawer is the safe. That made the chest top heavy and only left the other small drawers for us to put our stuff in. Both of these items only left about 10 inches for the hanging clothers and coats. The room we were in definitely had enough space for a dresser and moving the chest of drawers out of the closet.
The staff at the hotel were pleasant and helpful and could answer our questions about the city. This was appreciated since it was our first time to New Orleans.
The plans for our week were to sightsee and sample the local foods. The staff recommended several restaurants for us to try and plenty of places for us to check out the local sights. On Wednesday, after a day out exploring we came back to the hotel to be told that there was no water due to the cold weather and a water main either breaking or freezing up. This obviously isn't the hotels fault and they gave us some bottled water. The water was still out in the morning. We again were given bottled water so that we could wash up. We were ok with that since the staff told us the water would be back on this afternoon. We went about our day and once we go back to the hotel we were told the water would be out until Sunday. Again, not the hotel's fault and the young lady at the front desk told us several times that there would be no penalties for us checking out early. She then proceeded to tell us that there were three hotels in the area that do have water, but she cannot help us make the reservations because the Cambria wasn't at fault for this issue. Yes, we have cell phones and can look up the phone numbers, but this comment from them gave me a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. As someone who has worked in customer service for over 30 years, this really isn't something you should say to your customer. Again, unfortunate circumstances with the temperatures being so low and causing water issues.

Dear DeniseRose66,

Thank you for reviewing the hotel and understanding our situation. We apologize for not assisting in making a reservation for you, but we unfortunately cannot make reservations at other properties. Those must only be made by the guest that will be staying at the hotel. We did provide the list of phone numbers to the guests that were looking to move.

We do currently have water at the hotel.

Thank you again for staying with us and we hope your next visit to New Orleans is a better experience.

The hotel which is almost new has a modern industrial meets funky art deco vibe that is just perfect for the warehouse district in New Orleans. It's a short 10 minute walk to Canal Street and the French Quarter but far enough away to enjoy quiet nights for relaxing in your room. All of the hotel staff were extremely helpful. There is a restaurant in the lobby serving breakfast, lunch and dinners. We ordered a couple of times for pick-up to carry back to the room (room service is not available). Their burgers were OK for a quick bite but it's not fair to compare the hotel's restaurant to the outstanding restaurant scene located within a 5-10 minute walk in either direction. Self parking on site is not available but for about $38 a day you can get valet parking. We opted for arranging off site covered parking at the Premium Parking lot #P130 about 4 blocks away at 735 Camp St for less than $20 per day. Overall I highly recommend the Cambria Hotel for travelers who want an upscale atmosphere for a reasonable cost.

Room Tip: Ask for a upper floor room overlooking Tchoupitoulas Street for the best views

After driving over 17 hours, we finally arrived to our first destination of a near two week family vacation. You can only imagine how excited my 3 and 5 year old were to get out of the car. Cambria welcomed us with friendly, warm smiles. The customer service was above and beyond. What I love the most was that they were so happy to share what New Orleans was all about. I have nothing but amazing thing to say about our stay here.

We will be back. Absolutely. Every time.

Olga- my son has a huge crush on you. We left a week ago and has asked about you everyday since we have left. It’s the cutest!

Thanks for being awesome Cambria!

Quick weekend getaway with my boyfriend. The beds were really comfortable and the shower was hot and great water pressure. Hotel was quiet. Front desk was really helpful and check-in was fast. The location was great! Far enough from Bourbon St with lots of great bars and restaurants around the hotel.

We stayed in a King room for a quick weekend trip. We arrived after midnight, check-in was a breeze. Love the decor from the moment we walked in -- the trumpets wall art and the crown on skulls motif are so very aptly New Orleans! It feels just like a trendy boutique hotel full of local touches.

Our room is super spacious with lots of plugs to charge anything. I count at least four USB outlets! Wifi works great! Love the ceiling to floor windows. Ample comfy lighting in the bathroom. Housekeeping did a good job daily. Comfy and quiet sleep. There was even room for a day-bed and a dining table! Amazing restaurants all around the neighborhood. We will definitely return!
