This used to be a W, now remodeled. The nice thing about remodeling a new-ish hotel is that the rooms still make sense, unlike boutique remodels of old hotels that result in weird corners, unusable bathrooms and zero closets, touting hipness over actual usability.
The rooms are well-appointed, roomy, with some great views. We were upgraded to a corner suite that was spectacular. Food in the restaurant was good if a bit pricey (but hey, this is NOLA). The only downside was the bar our final evening, where some 20-something named Brandon was showing off behind the bar, which was ironic because he was pretty much clueless (too busy flirting to pay attention to actually making drinks) while 3 other staff stood behind the bar with apparently nothing to do.
